Just did a clean install of WOTR, patched to 1.21 and installed DX9. When I launch a quick mission or quick combat I get and exception error. When I click OK, the program closes.


I uninstalled and went through the steps again, same result. Did a second uninstall, did it through the toolbox this time, not through control panel like the first time. reinstall/patch/DX9 install. Same problem, it occurs at the "runtime" stage of setting up the scenario. (sorry for blurry pic).

Check this post. I think this is the fix. Hope it helps.I know it says WOFF but this was happening in WOTR also.

Thanks for the response, but that does not appear to be the solution. I am not seeing rundll32.exe running in Task Manager when I alt/tab out of WOTR. I am able to run WOFFBHHII without issue.

Did you try the fix? It is simple to preform & it will not hurt to try it. I am pretty sure this is what you need to do.
Also, put a post in the technical issues thread, second down from the top in the main WOTR listing. Pol will see it quicker in that thread maybe.

Crap, sorry to waste your time. Setting exe to run as admin did the trick. I looked at the Faqs not sure how I missed it.

I haven't been able to play this sim for months due to this issue. Thought it had something to do with a Win7 update..until I read this thread.

Ran the batch script mentioned above and back working!
