Thanks for the reply FT/Bisher.

You will have to excuse my terrible noobyness on the intricacies of DCS as it is something that I have only dabbled with on and off over the years. In fact I have yet to even fly the AV-8B as I just picked it up when I saw it in a sale (along with FC3).

Learning this sim is on my 'to do' list and has been since 2008 I'm ashamed to say frown

Not at all Chucky. I hear you regarding the feeling of noobyness on the intricacies that comes with DCS smile

I took the plunge with 2.7 tonight. Had a little fun with it also. The clouds are the best in the business right now. Can't wait to see the new weather system in CLOD. Here are a few first impression pics I took.

Baby steps + Chuck's guide is the way to do it.
Choose a plane, and choose a simple thing to learn.
So take the harrier, and learn to start it up.
Then take off from a runway.
Then land on a runway.
And so on. Just set a small goal each time you load it up. At first I tried to learn it by a 'today I will learn the A-10' method. It didn't go well. Once I started doing 'Today I will learn to use laser guided mavericks on the A-10' it went much better.

pffffff, this is DCS, there are not errors wink lol

Ya I've seen similar 'clone' damage in other aircraft as well.

Is that a cable or wire trailing out the rear of the fuselage?

I do believe that is an antenna if I am not mistaken. That actual is a REALLY bad mismatch. I cannot see how the creators of this module could put so much time and effort(the P47 looks absolutely awesome) into this plane and then create a damage effect so bad and then release it to paying customers. I would be ashamed that I had anything to do with that. Nice picture though Bisher. Flying the Jug in DCS really gives the feeling of a heavy plane to me. I think they did a good job over all except this obvious blemish.

Edit: Yea agreed, evolution is a constant with DCS. They should fix it soon in the next ten years or so. yep

Not to get too distracted in the screenshot forum, but this is what beta is all about. The damage model evolves just like the rest of the game. And ya evolution can be a long, long, slow process wink

Well, when my tail gets blown off I don't have time to inspect it to see if it matches whats left of my plane... I'm too busy cleaning up my whisky shandy that I've knocked over when everything went 'BANG'...
