Your life and feelings man, but I spent a bunch of time responding to your PMs and trying the test exe's you sent me as you were exploring the source code. I also provided constructive feedback on your blackhawk cockpit in this thread and posted videos on YT citing your work. And, if memory serves me, you never once actually said you'd even tried my FM tweaks. So I try your stuff you send me, but you don't try my stuff? We've already demonstrated how additions to the code's been buried and hidden as if to make it difficult to alter and have seen instances of contributors getting very precious about their additions & alterations. You also acquiesced to requests from modders to delete their contributions. How is that even o.k.? Contributions to public source code are out there and not personal IP. That's the deal. This forum has put up with some weird behavior, and, frankly, egos, from modders and code admins, including them getting very touchy about posts that were completely benign and inoffensive to any rational person. I've gotten apology posts from Banita before, to his credit, but never gotten any apologies from any of the other modders that behaved like that. Did any of the other people they attacked get any such apologies? I'm not saying there isn't stuff in this particular thread above that went over the line or you and they don't have a right to leave whenever you feel like it, but fact is fact. And that's not even getting to the subject of bugs. After that "FLIGHT MODEL or where is it ?" thread where I got into an argument with people claiming everything was hunky dory and also pointed out them jumping on people over literally nothing, you were in private working with me to decipher that source code. You never once voiced any personal issues with me previously. Hell, not to toot my own horn here, but looking back at the last year of posts on this forum, my posts helped get some energy back on this dead forum.

Dead once again nope

That's the exact reason I'm done with mods of flight simulations and changed over to DCS.

If you built something like a whole homecockpit for any of those mod based simulations (EECH, BMS etc.) and the modders suddenly decide to stop working on it or promised things, like other aircraft (F/A-18 , AV-8B, F-14D, F-15E), are canceld totally unexpected and they decide to only support the F-16 from now on (an aircraft, I never made a whole homepit for) cause the other aircraft become unimportant over night, your project is worth nothing within a few hours, despite all the promises made before.

Not to mention the time and money you spent for this. NEVER AGAIN!

It's absolutely correct to mention BMS in this context. They announced with big pride the new F/A-18C and the AV-8B as flyable modules in the trailer of 4.33. This and the promise, that also the F-15E and the A-10A will now get more attention, was the starting point for my homepit project at those times. In DCS there weren't any interesting modules except the A-10 at those times.

The F-16 never was my favorite jet and for me it's also a dead horse, cause every second jet figher simulation in the past 30 years was an F-16 simulation, followed by F-22 and Superhornet.

Many years of building a whole pit completely compatible with BMS only, cause of all the electronics I used, with functional MFD's, gauges, 7 segment displays and so on, just to see that with 4.34 they dropped all other aircraft beside the umteen variations of the F-16. Nothing was functional in the other aircraft, no analoge gauges anymore and bugs everywhere. After mention this, I get the answer BMS is F-16 only, if you want something else go elsewhere. That's what I've done.

BMS is a continuing and ongoing development.
For 2 decades I may add.
Of course, there are always some difficulties with this or that version and iteration of the code, but many things evolve subject only to time, manpower, and currently available talent constraints.
And yes I am aware of official word vs. (sometimes behind the scene) ongoing development.
Everyone is always invited and welcomed on BMS official forum to voice the requests, or better yet, getting involved with their own development.
Still, all that takes a long time unfortunately so, by all means, good luck to you with DCS.

Problem is that DCS is way too expensive, requires a NASA computer to run, and way too complicated and hard compared to old sims like EECH. I tried the free version with AH-6 little bird mod and found out that it is not my cup of tea.

Yes, that's the problem with DCS. I also don't wanted to spent this much money in the hardware I now use. That also was the reason I always prefered BMS and EECH (and Strike Fighters Project 2) for my "universal" home cockpit project (a pit in which you can fly all kind of fighters and attack helicopters with a decent grade of realism).

And I also was more than ok with the grade of realism BMS in case of other fighters (all is F-16 under the hood) and EECH allmods could offer, but what is not ok, is that promises made suddenly discarded or work that was started, suddenly is abandoned and no one cares about the people who started their own projects based on the promises which where made.

For me at the end its now cheaper and saver to adapt my new homepit project on DCS, as to spent a lot of time and money in a free community based simulator, which never gets finished or the direction of what it should be changes every single moment. I have teared down the whole old projekt, cause it was useless for BMS after 4.34 and also for EECH cause of the always again stoped work on it, as we have it now another time.

I never did anything for BMS, cause the level of perfection the community want's to have there is much too high for my skills, but I was a part of the EECH community for 3 years and I also did some work for it. The new reworked 3D-model of the KA-50 cockpit was the thing I did to help with EECH Allmods get finished sometime. As you can see it now once again it's only a waste of time, as long as things stay as they are at the moment.

Hi Witchy Woman,

I believe the code to the project is still somewhere "The code is online for free, someone else can have a go" but I don't know where, or if any other modders would pick it up. Banita left the forum (and project) in a huff because Messyhead seemingly hadn't listened to him about the textures (which Messyhead said he hadn't had time to check yet) so there is no chance of him doing it.

As you say, great job of killing the project.

I have sent questions to Banita and Messyhead over the years for help and both were always helpful. I know Banita could get a bit "hot under the collar" at times but I was really shocked at his attitude this time.

Anyway, it's a sad state of affairs that we can't all work together.

Maybe the lockdown is responsible for the heightened emotions here, I don't know.

Cheers,

Andy

What I personaly couldn't understand is why also close the Discord channel for the project and deleting the added code. I mean no one else was involved in this dispute besides Banita. That's total unfair to other guys who want to do something to improve EECH.

Yes, Banita often has used insulting language, but I tried to ignore it as good as I could. That's no reason to punish all the other guys of the community. If I'm tired of the community or simply have no time anymore to finish my started work, I could state this in the forum and someone else can continue the work if he likes. But thats only my own opinion.

It's on GitHub now... the newer one, that is. There's also a much older version that's been on there a while. Still trying to get into my old account. I did find out where the gun round amounts are located.

Still looking for where the KIAS max and RBS thresholds are at.
And also what that control axis 'pressure' means. Hydraulics? Something like I can do with GlovePIE? Forcefeedback related? Seems unused right now, so that would probably eliminate hydraulics pressure. Hydraulics do diminish when damaged the more you use them, though.

Ah, thats good! I also wanted to come back somewhere in future, if my homepit projects are finished. I still love EECH, even if it is a bit aged now, but this was never a problem for me. I'm not "eye candy" simmer and also not the "all must be exact the same as in real life" guy.

If something is believably implemented, even if it works totally different under the hood, I'm ok with it. That's something I'm not happy in DCS with. I mean it's really cool that all is done with such a perfection, but on the other hand it's a bit weird to wait 3-4 years for only one module to be finished. And what is it good for if things work like in real life, but some real interesting aircraft, like eg. a Havoc, an Aligator or even a D-Model of the Tomcat couldn't be made, cause of confidentiality.

I think at the end of the day even a simulation is nothing more than a game and should make fun. For sure it has to be realistic, but not to this degree. I'm not in the Air Force and I don't use it for training.

I do not think MessyHead's BH pit code modifications are on GitHub. Are they?
I also think that removing everything from the EECH community is a bit of an overreaction, but who am I to judge.
The development of cockpits is a Holy Grail of any combat simulations in general and avionics code that part of the know-how is even more precious.
