I thought at first it was a Brinks type truck caring large amounts of cash. I was amazed to find out that they were carrying phones. A daylight, out in the open high speed road attack over phones?! That's insane.

The driver showed massive brass balls. His side kick didn't seem too fazed either.

Yep, Africa... Whilst working out there in 2001, I was stopped on a road in the middle of nowhere whilst returning to Jo'berg by two uniformed black policemen... they wanted to fine me for speeding (which we weren't) and when I asked for paperwork to be produced for the receipt of the fine, one of them drew his pistol, shoved it in my face and shouted at me ''WHY DO YOU HATE SOUTH AFRICA''... I calmly told him I'd be happy to pay the fine and that I loved South Africa and then they smiled, took the money and left... just a normal day in South Africa!

That rifle isn't going to do them any good inside that armored vehicle. He should have gotten on the phone immediately and called either the police or his dispatcher, who then would have called the police. What they needed most right there was back-up.

SALUTE TO ALL!

I watch that and expecting the rifle to be a gun accident.

I was thinking that too. Who knows, the police in that area might be connected to the bandits themselves. I was also thinking what the hell were the bandits thinking? Did they think they would just shoot at the truck and it would pull over? Did they think it would just crash on the side of the road and they could just pull up and unload the phones? It looked more like an assassination attempt then a robbery.

I, too, was wondering why they did not try to call the police earlier.

The fact that the attackers were willing to shoot-to-kill from the start meant that they likely would have murdered the occupants as soon as the truck stopped.

YIKES.

I got more than enough of the "third world" experience when I went to Mexico in the late 90's.

Folks don't realize how good we got it here until they look beyond our media and truly see what the second and third world have to offer, either in person or through unedited footage.

The 1st world isn't nearly what it once was, besides, most of what's called the 2nd and 3rd world wouldn't be so bad if you could live as one of the privileged elite.
