Consider these screens for starters:

In 1.28e we switched to 1024x768 screens, so a new mainscreen was needed and this was it:

There is nothing stopping a user from making their own, or scaling up the 1.2 version if they prefer that smile

In 1.28 we switched from three screens that only ever gave you the choice of fighters, to two screens displaying the flyable aircraft, one Allied and the other Axis:

The career screens in UAW160 are the same as in 1.2:

In this version of the UAW160 exe the configuration screen is the same as in 1.2, apart from the additional items at the top of the screen:

Some other versions allow plane-set and theatre selection from the configuration screen

....and the initial multiplayer screen is the same as in 1.2:

What you do not get, because of the switch to 1024x768 are the movies (which only apply to the 1.2 ETO campaigns) and the aircraft views with their descriptions (which only apply to the the 1.2 ETO planes).

You can still fly 1.2 ETO missions and careers in UAW160, if you use the default plane-set and theatre, so why bother with 1.2 unless it is for pure nostalgia ?

What you will only get in UAW160 are things like this:
[Linked Image]

We have a raised deck carrier (as in 1.28c) but it has stackable objects such as the AAA guns, and the Corsairs. These become individual targets when the carrier is attacked.
The destroyers also have stackable guns. Other ships can have stackable cargo boxes, and each one becomes a target when the ship is attacked smile

Here is a catapult ship:

.. and whilst I am posting we introduced "mixed" interdictions in 1.29. This was possible because we modified the "EAW_RRD.dat" code to allow some railway lines to be invisible.
This allowed us to have barge convoys on rivers, such as this one on the Thames:

I have them on the Elbe and the Seine too smile

We have had ship convoys running on invisible rail lines at sea, plus armoured and truck convoys running on invisible lines on land.
Normal train convoys are still possible of course, running on lines that are rendered:

A four track railway line, with a passenger train on the down passenger line approaching an armoured goods train on the up line:

You can see that there is also a narrow gauge line too smile

Many more features have developed in the 1.28 series, and retained in UAW160:

  • Gun convergence- the most popular request when the original 1.28 was created
  • The creation of a basic "TMod.dat" file, and individual "TModXYZ.dat" files.
  • A maximum of 1000 TMod types
  • Allied, Axis and Front-line versions of TMods
  • Additional 3dz file types for aircraft skins
  • Aircraft multiskins
  • Plane sets
  • The "Dir.set" system with paths to folders for theatre files
  • The "PDir.set" and "FMDir.set" system with paths to skin and flight model folders for plane-set files
  • A far better multiplayer system
  • The use of BMP files for skins, cockpit and terrain files
  • The introduction of external "*.MPF" files for all sorts of things,
such as the setting of the friendly and enemy capitals to set the sides of the front-line
  • An extended aircraft formation system
  • An extended runways system
  • An extended weapons system
  • Torpedo missions with working torpedoes
  • Paratrooper drops
  • Wet-engine starts
  • The possibility of thousands of different tiles via the "TM2" system

There are many more that I have missed, but that should be enough to illustrate how much work has been done to improve our game wink
However, as I outlined in the first post you can still fly the equivalent of 1.2 using the default settings in UAW160 smile
