Copy EAW CD (the specified files) to your C drive, root folder or 2nd drive.
run eaw.exe and configure., save a copy of your eaw.ini some other place.

If your on win10 you should be "OK" to play.

Start with the first use help document or maybe "install help doc" and troubleshoot help doc if you need a wrapper program......

Come back here and tell us your progress and anything that might be helpful to guide you further.

Thats what i tried for days before registering here, on Win10 i can get to main menu of EAW, but whether i use nglide or not, or any other graphical engine in the settings the game keeps always crashing at the beginning of starting the game/flight.
When i use Win98 i get that old 71 whatever error which was because of the gpu being to new for the game. I also tried every kind of compatibility settings in win 10. Every time i start the game with quick start or something it keeps crashing to desktop and closing the game..

Do you have a joystick plugged in? or your Flight controls set up?

Try setting the eaw.ini setting Windows Joystick=1

Thats the most recent problem I had without the joystick plugged in. OR setup the controls in the configuration menu screen.

Yeah set up your Flight Controls or do the Windows Joystick=1 in the eaw.ini (open with notepad)

The game will drop out of the flight screen if there's no Flight Controls configured.

Would you suggest any newer/ other patches for this game to have more fun, which are not available anymore in this forum ?

Do you also have other tips for the other two games Panzer44 and Panzer Commander ? At one of these games i cannot even install it, because the setup was made for 8bit or something.

When you fly a single mission the data is stored, and will be used again for the parameters when you set-up a new single mission in the same plane.
Quick missions also use these files. However, if you have a new set-up and these files have not been created, then choosing a quick mission (which would seem to be the most simple choice), may well result in a CTD.

For other new people or questions, just a note about general internet forums etiquette: 'Sticky threads' or threads at the top of the forums, are places where useful general information for long term (often many years) viewing is usually posted.
Good forum etiquette is to Not post various questions, remarks, etc. there unless it is specifically marked to do so.
This is because random posts fill the thread and produce many pages. Since most forums split the long threads into pages the last page will usually be the one clicked on or seen by visitors looking for the latest information. If they only see some random posts, questions, remarks they usually miss the important information in the 'Sticky threads'. Which defeats the whole purpose.
Also its considered rude to just barge in and post your questions about another game.

RAF_Roy's DAW Mod

Addon for DAW which adds airbases objects (stuka's, extra guns, forts, tanks, trucks and a few ships) on Crete and the other 2 nearby islands. It also fixes 1 airbase on Crete that was outof whack, and modifies a couple airbases in the desert and adds some tank columns. Pics and readme included. Just add the 2 .dat files to DAW overwriting the old. All else DAW is the same.
