I have better results with uBlock Origin personally. I did turn it off once to see how bad it was and I just can't live with those Infolink ads,sorry.

Use Opera. You can turn off the ads on PC and phone. One click. One click to turn ads back on if you need to for a particular site.

Adblock (free) works with chrome for me.
Maybe try adding Privacy Badger.
I too tried to support by leaving ads on. Was unusable, couldn't post, slide show at times.
