Hi folks. I'm looking for some help to check an issue I've found with keymapping. I've tried it in 1.11.1 and it happens there to, so I don't think it's a bug that's been introduced. It might be to do with the Windows version, but looking for others to verify.

The issue I'm finding is that the Right ALT key is behaving like the Left CTRL key. For example CTRL and ] should switch the MFD on/off. It doesn't matter if you use the left or right CTRL key.

Left ALT and ] does nothing, but Right ALT and ] also switches the MFD on/off.

I'm using Windows 10. Could others try it, and let me know if you see the same, and which version of Windows you're using?

I was digging into the keyboard code yesterday, and it maps the key code returned by windows, so I'm wondering if this has changed in Windows versions.

Oh boy !! You've opened a can of worms here !!!

On the Comanche cockpit we have:

Left Alt + [ = next page on small left aux MFD.
Left Alt + ] = next page on small right aux MFD.

Right Alt + [ = on/off for left main MFD -AND- next page on small left aux MFD.
Right Alt + ] = on/off for right main MFD -AND- next page on small right aux MFD.

In the Apache cockpit, as you say, the left alt keys do nothing with the right alt with [ and ] switching the main MFDs on and off.

I'm running version 1.16.0 on a windows 7 pro 64 bit machine (not your cohokum-BH.exe).

Hope this helps, but I suspect it's just going to complicate matters.

I take it the reason the keys don't seem to do anything in a cockpit with only 2 MFDs is becasue they have been allocated to operate the additional 2 small MFDs in the Comanche cockpit. Well, that's my guess anyway.

Cheers,

Andy

Ok, thanks. I just wanted to check if it was something in my setup causing it, but seems like a global issue.

I think this "doubled" behaviour is because Right ALT is the same as CTRL, and CTRL [ ] switches the MFDs on/off. But it's also behaving as ALT so changing the small MFDs as well.

I think to be safe, it's best to use Left ALT all the time to get the expected behaviour.
