It's not every day one has an Avro floatplane accompanying one's picnic on the beach. Them was the days. It's an evocative painting of times long past Trooper. Wake me up before you cocoa.

Yes chaps, it is a wonderful picture... It's supposed to be sometime in 1916, showing an RNAS Avro floatplane trainer, not sure of the location though.
Anyone with a sound knowledge of the RNAS and their floatplane training establishments, might be able to hazard a guess to whereabouts it is biggrin

A wonderful old painting, Trooper, thanks for sharing. As to the location, it's near RNAS Capel at Folkestone. That rising headland and waterfront pavilion are the giveaway. Here is a 1910 postcard of the beach at Folkestone from almost the exact same perspective. Wham!
