I am sure that whatever went wrong will be our fault as the view comes to star trek. Prepare to be socially reeducated and diversified into the last frontier. I'm still torn on this issue because even the original Star Trek series was extremely progressive compared to the era when it was airing on TV so you can argue that Star Trek has always had this aspect to it. ST: TOS had the first inter-racial kiss on American TV and it had an episode which was a rather obvious commentary on the Vietnam war.

True, PM, ST has always been progressive but, as with most new "entertainment", it gets more preachy and in your face than previous years.
There is the obvious solution, do not watch it, which is increasingly my choice, but it is impossible to not notice.

Yup and he really doesn't look frail at all. Genetics goes a long way baby!

Yup and he really doesn't look frail at all. Genetics goes a long way baby! Imo, Being wealthy and having the time to take care of himself hasn't hurt his longevity either. At the moment Shatner has lived 3 years longer than his mother did, she passed away in 1992 at 87 years old, and just over 20 more years than his father who passed when he was 69 in 1967. I have heard him say in interviews that he was filming "The Devil in the Dark" episode of Star Trek when his father passed. away Wheels

I had high hopes for both Picard and Discovery, but their preachy wokeness has just about ruined both shows for me. I'm really close to finding something else to watch and leave them be. I really really hope Strange New Worlds has less of this in it, or I'll be totally done with ST.

Maybe they listen to the fans displeasure and fix it for season 3.
That will be entirely dependent on the streaming numbers for the show. If the numbers dropped then the producers will make changes but if the numbers stayed steady or increased then forget about it.

I'm sure there was plenty of wokeness, so alas, I'll pass.
Season 1 was all I could stomach.
