Trooper, yes the Mossie is only in Beta right now as an early release. I know you are a smart simmer as I have seen you lurking in all of the Forums for a very long time. I think you might be shying away from Beta, as I always did, but this might help to ease your mind about making the leap into using Betas in DCS. I found this third party App, made by Skatzilla, DCS Updater Utility. Once 2.7 came out and bisher, Dam-n you Bisher! , shamed me into trying the DCS 2.7 Cloud update beta by posting those awesome first pictures of the new cloud rendering update in this thread, I had to find a way to try it out. I don't keep up with DCS or its' updating process for the Beta releases and so I had no idea how to do it, and even after reading how to do it through the Official DCS method I was skeptical and was leery of not knowing how to revert back to a stable version if the Beta was messed up or I didn't like it. I wanted to try that cloud update bad so I installed this utility and without reading any directions, go figure , I learned how to update my one and only DCS install to the Beta. Once on the correct tab, it took one click and I was done. I have now used it to perform I think 3 or 4 Beta updates and each time it has worked flawlessly, and honestly if I can do it, it has to be easy, and for a seasoned Veteran such as yourself it should be a snap. Here are a couple of pics of 1. The Home page showing the current install, and 2. The page where you perform the Beta updates. Hope this helps and gives you any easy mind towards updating and getting in the Mossie, as I know you must be champing at the bit to take the old Girl up. The only bug I have noted that might make you raise your eyebrow(in DCS, not the Utility) is that the Mossie will for no known reason pore smoke from the Port engine for like 5 minutes and then clear up. It is a bug as far as I understand and it is not from improper operation of the Mossie. I have flown hour long sessions, starting with the smoke and it disappearing soon enough and completing my flight without incident. There was a second update just a couple of days ago and Ed may have already corrected this smoking bug, but I am not positive about that. Anyway, hope this helps Sir.

Edit: During install I am pretty sure you have to point the utility to DCS, but I can't remember what else I had to do. There again, I figured it out, so it should be simple for you.
Hope it works out and you decide to make the Jump Trooper. Just a word of caution I have my trim curves for Pitch, Roll axis(maybe a little less on Roll) set to 35, and each of the 3 trim axis to like 25 I think. I also have the Throttle saturation toned down to give a smoother response over the whole Throttle throw. I was having most of the throttle response in the lower one third of the whole throttle throw before tuning it. This is even using my VKB Gunfighter MkIII with the 200mm extension. She is very sensitive out of the box without some heavy curves. For takeoff I use no flaps, 2 notches nose down elevator trim, rudder starboard trim = pointer pointing at the 'r' in the word 'trim' and 2 full notches of right aileron trim. Baby steps in getting my trim right for takeoff but I have pretty much settled on these settings. Now I can get a hands off trimmed setting in normal flight that I can let fly itself for fairly long periods of time, yet still throw her around somewhat in A2A encounters using the Elevator Trim to assist A2A maneuvering. Maybe these settings will help save some time for first timers.
And on that note! My First Air to Air kill right at the top of a climbing stall as I tore that Fw190 a new one with my 20mms before bring my Mossie's nose down to watch the fireworks and hasty exit of that Hun from his heated situation. All in gorgeous detail in DSC's most recent offering. DCS is coming along a little piece at a time. I am having fun for now in the new toys and map. Still wanting for that Dynamic Campaign Generator that keeps being whispered about. I will believe it when I see it. Here is hoping that it will be released soon!
Blade...brilliant shots Those are some great-looking graphics, and that's a heck of a job taking out that FW! Very dramatic, too, right there at 'hammerhead'
Thanks Trooper. Here is a pic dump. Some old, some new. I have to say, while I love TGBS new clouds, DCS still has the best clouds as of now. Maybe CLOD/DWT will release TrueSky into the mix this year and we will have another in the competition.
