First off, am really enjoying this latest incarnation of WOFF. How far it has come since the initial days of the first version of OFF, is a huge tribute to the creativity and commitment of all the developers. Who clearly have excellent IT skills _and_ understand WW1 aviation (been my favourite aviation era since I got my first Biggles book at the age of 8!)

Now I like flying with the Tac Display “on” - not being blessed with the eyesight of a McCudden or a Guynemer - but I like it a little less obtrusive. In my previous WOFF UE/PE versions, I’d reduced its size by 50%.

Trouble is, I’ve forgotten how to do this, and have lost the relevant notes. So, can someone please remind me how to resize the Tac Display? I’m pretty sure it can be done by editing the ViewUI.* file, but which one? There are several copies of this file, in different folders.

Advice please?

Mike

Mike,

Go to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\OBD_Games\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\ViewUI.xml and change BGScale from .30 to a smaller decimal. You may have to experiment with this to get the size to your liking. Personally, I think .25 is a good size.

Copied and Pasted from my post only a few days ago Mike

Hi all just a few tips IF you use the TAC display..

If you find the TAC display too large you can resize it by going into C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\Roaming\OBD_Games\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields and finding the ViewUI.xml file (Backup 1st).

Right click and open with Notepad, Sroll down near the bottom until you find

</HUDVsiMetric>
<TacticalDisplay BGIMage="tactical_display.dds" BGPos="0 0" BGSize="512 512" BGScale="0.30" BackColor="0x1f0000FF" Mode="0"/>
<TacticalDisplayMetric BGIMage="tactical_display.dds" BGPos="0 0" BGSize="512 512" BGScale="0.30" BackColor="0x1f0000FF" Mode="0"/>

And change the BGscale= from 0.30 to 0.25 or even 0.20 if you like on BOTH lines,it'll make your Tac display smaller Save and exit. make sure filetype is set to *.* first in notepad, then save as ViewUi.xml otherwise it will save it with .txt on the end which won't work

When on the main flight screen Shift+T Turns TAC On/Off It (Can be dragged if required to anywhere on the screen if required with the mouse button) pressing T will toggle between aircraft,structures, airfields ect
Shift+D toggles messages on screen and CTRL+D will give you more advice ie (when to turn on engines ect)

Hope this helps any newbies or even old heads. thumbsup
Regards

Edit Bob beat me too it thumbsup
