I was wondering what settings everyone is using in Nvidia Control Panel for BH&H II, I am seeing textures popping and micro stutters. As you can see below my system is no slouch, so was wondering if something can be done to improve matters thru NCP. ATM I am just using default global settings. Thoughts and suggestions please lads.

Best regards.

Popping textures sounds odd, maybe driver related to new vid card. I don't see popping textures with 2080 Ti.

Pan around at the start of a mission a few times usually helps load in textures which helps but I'll move this to the technical. There's been lots of discussions about this sort of thing and more won't help much, everyone perceives different values regarding stutters.

Micro stutters are also in PCs generally, every game I play I see something.

Using Af=16..
Antialiasing mode =enhance.
AA setting = 8
Antialiasing transparency OFF
Texture filtering-Anisotropic sample=OFF
Texture filtering negative =Clamp
Texture filtering Quality=Quality
Texture filtering Trilinear= on
Vertical Sync on.

Workshop settings all high, AA in Workshop set to 8 samples, And Vsync to driver settings

I find these settings to work fine for me on a rig less powerful than yours, external views wires ect look better.
Try your vSync in nvidia to Adaptive half refresh rate

HTH Fube
Best of luck

@Polovski

Sorry, didn't think this was really a tech question, was just more curious than anything to see how people have their settings.

No worries Fube meant to say run half refresh rate if your running at 144 on your monitor pal. So..72 FPS might be worth a go.

Adger. Quick question mate. I'm not seeing adaptive v-sync, could this be because my monitor is G-Sync? Also have to ask what is HTH? hehe.

My settings thus far in NCP:

AA = 4x Supersampling
Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA) = On
Power Management = Max Performance
Texture Filtering - Anisotropic Sample Optimisation = Off
Negative LOD Bias = Clamp
Texture Filtering - Quality = High Quality
Trilinear Optimisation = On

Getting a steady 85 - 100 FPS in training.

Thanks for the tips mate. Drinks on me in the officers mess.

Regards.

Ay up Fube, I see adaptive VSync at the bottom of NCP inside Vertical Sync

Vertical Sync..I show 6 options
Use the 3D application settings,
Off,
On,
Adaptive
Adaptive (half refresh rate) ..the one you could try
Fast.
HTH = Hope that/this helps .. biggrin

I don't think BHaH2 can do super-sampling, Fubat, so might explain the excessive stuttering. Try multisampling, instead.

HTH = Hope this helps.

This or that...

Beat me by 50 seconds, Adger! biggrin

Great stuff lads, il have a few Guinness off you both cheers

Maybe there’s something set further up regarding G-Sync that negates the options I see regarding VSync Fube. Either way I’m glad you’re happy and sorted, .

There actually is a option for Nvidia SSAA in toolbox Bob not workshop..never used it personally mate I’m assuming it’d eat into your resources for very little graphically gain.

Agreed Adger, you *do* need a beefy card to fly with SSAA. But if you can handle it it looks soooo loverly wink

The only way that SS works is it has to "match" the same XX setting as AA, i.e. 4 AA, then 4 SS; 2 AA then 2 SS; etc.

I have a 32" 3840x2160 G-sync monitor and my in Workshop AA setting is 2 AA, which means I match my Nvidia Control Panel SS to 2 SS for it to work.

True SS using more GPU cycles, but what it does is stop the trees from "dithering" when you taking off, landing or flying low. Other wise you would probably not notice the SS effects on high.
