This is the first of hopefully many to demo BH&H II sim features.

Please add to this thread.

The video is of a Balloon Defense Mission flown out of Phalempin Aerodrom in April 1917. The Aerodrome is an updated airfield which is part of the Consolidated Airfields Mod for WOFF.
The video contains no combat footage as no enemy aircraft were encountered in this mission.

That's a good looking Albatros! I'll repost my video here. It is a shame YouTube thinks it is Rise of Flight!

This is a BH&H II QC mission with no combat. It demos a sunset landing at Visseghem aerodrome and the lights in the buildings and convoy headlights.

VIEW IN FULL SCREEN in order to see the night time details clearly.

Nice videos guys.
I see, like my install, that if you select to fly for, say the RFC, the interface shots between menu selections seem to be predominately of German aircraft or personnel.
I expected that they would reflect the nation you have selected to fly for (i.e. German or French or British etc),

Great video! I love the sounds of the guns, how they alternate and have that clear popping noise.

AI is life-like as well. The Spad with the busted upper wing was very impressive as well.

As I said a few times during Beta, BHaH II is more than the sum of its parts. How it all comes together - the goggle effects, terrain blending, AI improvements, etc. It really does feel like a whole new experience. Kudos again to OBD for delivering such an amazing sim.
Started a Sopwith Tripehound campaign with RNAS-1. Magnificent little furball behind enemy lines. I didn't even see them at first. Just saw my squadron start peeling off.

Ouch! Well, just a little...

*also: nice sound effects before and after engine start-up/shut down
*also, also: I turned down the goggles to about seven and I think I like it.
*also, also, also: If you bind a joystick button to mixture control up or down, don't forget to change the repeat to one or two from zero. Two worked well for me.

Still testing things out with 40 Sqn. We were headed off for a line patrol when we ran into a flight of recon craft about halfway there. Usually this ends with us getting shot up quickly and landing, as per my last video. This time however, there were escorts that attacked. Seeing that the rest of the boys seemed to have the matter in hand. I pushed through to follow the recon craft but they were so far ahead that after crossing the lines I was about to give up on them when they suddenly turned and started to land. I attacked one and then tried to make my way home before over-staying my welcome. Just then, an errant flight of Albatros scouts that I had spotted heading away a while earlier decided to head back my way and dove down. On me. Alone. Also, watch the end-of-flight review for that cracker-jack observer/gunner, hitting me at nearly 1400 feet (!!!) out! Sign that guy up for the Olympics!

How do you lower your Lewis so smoothly, Rick?
I have to press the button many times to lower it and the movement seems increment in my case... sigh

So steep dive in an Albatros, could be a half suicide move, Hellshade!
I'm not sure if a human player could perform such a dive without damaging his wings.

Same. Just holding Ctrl+G seems to bring it down smoothly.

I have assigned the action to stick buttons, for practicality, but apparently you have to press the button many times in order to complete the move up or down, press and hold doesn't seem to work.
I'll try the default setup, thanks guys!

Try changing the repeat on the input from 0 to 2, if that is an option. I did that with my mixture control when mapping it to the stick and that seemed to solve the problem.

Great fun! I am amazed at how much difference the little vibration animations make. I would vote to even up them a little more, if possible!

Starting another Rother Nought career with the new version. A pretty successful mission for our Sqn, 3 down with no losses for ourselves, with one credited to me, the claim written in Swahili, natch.

If you haven't got it yet, it really is awesome! Although I keep forgetting that the review feature is there to see what actually happened to Sgt. Foster...

Marvellous videos!

But I may have missed something, pardon the dullness, but how does one capture such videos in WOFF?

Thanks

Hey Mike!

Thanks for the kind words! There are a number of 3rd party software programs that allow you to screen capture, like FRAPS or BANDICAM that seem to work well. If you have a newer NVIDIA card, you can do what I do and use the free feature that is part of the GeForce Experience utility that will capture video right off your card at a (I guess) tiny performance hit. I have mine set up so that it will capture the last fifteen minutes at a keystroke, but there are different settings you can choose. You can then use lots of different video editing software to erase all the wires and loop all the dialog (just kidding!)

Hope that helps!

On a somewhat related note - for those who are WOFFing on AMD-vid. cards and Win10, be aware that Windows Game Bar will most likely not be able to capture video in WOFF (UE/PE/BHAH.II) - have tested several times but have not been able to get it to work on my rig.

I therefore recommend a third-party app for WOFF video captures on AMD-vid. cards. VLC Player by the way is excellent at compressing videos once they are made - but I also have to double-check, for myself, what a good, free video-capturing app might be (it seems that VLC also has the ability to capture video so I recommend tinkering with that too - it's worth a shot).

Cheers all and happy recording,
Von S smile2

Thanks Rick!

Will try those out. Rather like the sound of “Bandicam” (ie as in Bart Bandy - for those in the know;)

Cheers

I have looked at many capture programs for WOFF but none come close in quality and performance integration as Nvidia Shadowplay. I know this is not helpful to you but if you think you found a good candidate, try to get a comparison.

I found that none had the resolution quality I liked and most caused negative impact on WOFF playability.

Just my 2 cents worth

Best Regards

Hello RJW,

Thank you for the info. Have now compared and tested several programs on my AMD-vid setup. The information that has now been posted in the relevant thread might be helpful to those running WOFF on AMD-vid. cards and if interested in video/audio recording in WOFF.

Cheers all,

Did this quickie for a bit of fun to get my hand in for making vids again after an absence of some time. It's an enjoyable process relearning stuff. You just forget so much and I aint getting any younger, failing grey matter etc. Also posted over at combat ace.

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Did I forget to mention that "Spiv" Taylor also supplied the French Govt with cheap, dodgy linen and poor quality timber destined for the Nieuport manufacturing plants?

Wow Jammer! I agree with all the other comments. I know how much work would have gone into that. Very professional. Truly outstanding. 5 stars.

Just one more thing, if I saw that, and didn't have BH&H2 or know anything about WOFF, I would buy it immediately.

Thanks for the kind complements.
Except for this forum, my online social presence is zero. With Pol's permission, feel free to link the video to any appropriate web site, forum, social media, etc. Let's share what we already know, WOFF is the best flight sim out there!
