So I've been reading the internet (read: "addiction problem") for 26 years or so, and it's only gotten less 'broad' spectrum and more specific over the years.

Example: I used to read Frugals, CombatSim, and SimHQ.
Likewise, I used to read CNN, BBC, and FOX.

I've culled a lot of websites in my daily news read. But looking through my history, there are sites I regularly hit every day or at least once a week. Here's my current list:

www.hotair.com
www.caranddriver.com
www.wsj.com
www.blog.drwile.com
www.theregister.com
www.tomshardware.com
www.simhq.com (duh)
www.pd.net
www.kgw.com (local news for me)

I'm curious what's on your 'daily' read lists. This being SimHQ, I'm certain there's a ton of variety, perspectives, and interesting things that each of you check on daily/weekly.

I find my web browsing has become a bit stagnant over the years, especially since I have for the most part stopped flight simming. This is a good thread idea. Maybe I can find some new sites now. My limited daily selection is:

There are many sites I visit on occasion but indeed I have VERY few that I visit daily like clockwork:

SimHQ.com
Variety.com (entertainment news)
Deadline.com (entertainment news)
Imdb.com
Facebook.com
Youtube.com (my primary source for discovering new music)

SimHQ is always the first place to go every morning.

YouTube is where I spend most time without a doubt..

Twitch TV most days.

If the snooker is on then snooker.org for results etc.

I avoid ALL social media sites for the sake of my sanity.

My internet content is centered basically from Twitter links. All my interests in an easy to follow format. Music, NHL, Comedy, Gaming, News.
Yahoo Fantasy Sports and SimHQ are my regular destinations.

Op mentions "internet...addiction problem"...

I can go cold turkey with online, no problem. I just turn my laptop (my only online portal) over to my wife and focus on something meaningful. The problem is that after a few days she gives it back, needing me to do something online. Or my parents need something that they would prefer me to do. And when it's my wife, I make sure to take advantage and milk the online fun time. smile

But lately my self-discipline has been the best ever, keeping my wasteful online time to a bare minimum. I wonder, is it crazy to stand at attention for a second or two in front of your kitchen refrigerator almost every morning at precisely 6AM in an olive green cap, t-shirt and camouflage shorts??? screwy I asked and was told, "Who cares if it's crazy? It's working so stick with it." And no, I don't salute the fridge. (as far as anyone else knows.) salute

By time spent:

Schoolwork and research for same. 30+ hours a week. Taking almost 3 months off this year, first summer off since 2016! And yeah, it's gonna take me like 6 years to graduate. All I can say is you try it at age 70.

YouTube; planned and rabbit holes

Some Amazon Prime vids

Here

A few news sites. Two right of center and Yahoo on the left, just to see the hugely differing views.

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet.
I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.
