It looks really nice. The guys who produce ED's videos are talented.
EV's are the Devils matchbox.

It's 30% off if you pre-order. I think I'll be getting it.

I've already pre-ordered. I usually don't pre-order things, but DCS stuff is usually pretty solid - I am aware it will be lacking features, which is fine, and so far no bugs have been real problems for me.

Dynamic campaign required, Hind bought separately. Please insert campaign to continue.

I've thought about it some more and I think I will hold off on the Hind for now. The reason? I already have 3 other modules that I've bought over the past couple of years and I still have barely put any time into them.

Understandable Panzer. I have many modules, most of which will be sorely underused.
But I spent the last year upgrading all my equipment, including an entire new PC build and all HOTAS & other peripherals, including a VR headset. As a kind of fresh start I'm going to sink some time into the Hind, my only hope is that they provide an English cockpit variant the same as they did the Blackshark

I tend to be an uptight purist so I've always used the Cyrillic cockpit when flying the KA-50 but of course I use the English tooltips which come up when you put your mouse cursor on any dial or gauge.

I'm more of a role-player I guess. I figure if I'm flying the KA-50 then I'm Russian, and if I'm Russian then I can read the cockpit

The only DCS helo I have is the Black Shark,so I was wondering will troop deployment be possible with the Hind?
I don't know whether it will be possible, and whether it will be possible on release. If it's possible with the Huey though, and therefore possible in principle, then I'd guess it will be possible eventually.

So for anyone who plays DCS and is somehow still unaware - the Hind is released on a pre-release basis. Also the extension to the Syria map, most notably Cyprus. Other beta benefits too.
Long download for me (~4 hours or so) but I managed to get a half-hour of Hind flying in. I immediately planted the first one into the ground (for some reason I thought it might fly as stable as the KA-50) but I managed to land it on the second go - it wasn't pretty but nothing broke
First impressions are very favourable. Excellent visual detail, a believable flight model, and as far as I can tell good fidelity.
I also flew it around the only place in the DCS world that I have physically been to - Akrotiri in the south of Cyprus. I guess I have been to the south coast of England also, but not in 1945

I've been flying the hind quite a bit, and it is a lot of fun. There are some bugs (especially desync issues if you have 2 humans as crew), but nothing showstopping. It is quite different to other helicopters, and attacks are best done on a run in/break off pattern instead of popping up. It is an interesting early 80s bird, with quite primitive tech compared to the Ka-50. It doesn't hover very well, and it is easy to go too fast and get a retreating blade stall. Lots of fun to fly overall.
With the CTLD mod you can do troop operations, which feels good (to be fair, mission creators can set any aircraft to do troop operations with CTLD, but most will only allow sensible planes to carry troops).
