This I find even more amazing than the people buying bananas taped to a wall as art: Beeple’s $69 Million NFT Art Sold to Founder of Crypto Fund MetapurseFrom what I gather, an NFT, or Non-Fungible Token, is some kind of crypto stamped digital artwork that you own. You own the original, but ANYBODY can have free digital copies! "Sure, you have the exact same digital image, but I can prove I have the original, and I stole it for only $69 Million." Yep, sounds like a great deal to me. Like PT Barnum said... https://www.wsj.com/articles/beeple...der-of-crypto-fund-metapurse-11615579907https://www.cnn.com/videos/business/2021/03/12/nft-non-fungible-token-beeple.cnnbusinesshttps://www.cnn.com/style/article/beeple-first-nft-artwork-at-auction-sale-result/index.html

Look for me on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook or Tic Toc...or anywhere you may frequent, besides SimHq, on the Global Scam Net. Aka, the internet. I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

The world is broken, and crypto was the precursor. Dutch Tulips have been replaced with electrons.

It just seems crazy to me. I still can't figure out who/why somebody would pay 2.5 million for jack Doresy's first tweet. LINK Like you said, it's just pixels.

Notice how the buyers are people with so much money that they don't know what else to spend it on. Plus they most likely crave the media attention that they get for making such a purchase.
Case in point,
"The Metapurse founder is relatively unknown in blue-chip art circles, but with the new Beeple purchase he has suddenly joined the rarefied ranks of top collectors. He has also stirred up a frenzy in crypto asset markets by paying a record sum for the artwork that only exists digitally. Its authenticity is verified primarily because it carries an NFT, or digital proof of purchase that is recorded on a digital ledger known as a blockchain. Christie’s said it is the first time the auction house has ever sold an entirely digital work."

Can someone explain to me how 'just electrons and pixels' can be protected from re-production or replication? Precisely the crux of the nonsense here.

I don't find the artwork that original and innovative. Seen better on 'Deviant Art' and similar sites.
