Bromellite is the worst substance on earth to mine for. F Bill Turner and his bromellite huffing fetish. Look at his photo--you can tell he's a huffer.
When we were mining Void Opals during the first big BOOM, it seemed that the excitement of finding a CORE was immediately diminished but it turning out to be Bromellite. Back then Bromellilte cores were all over the place!

HAHA, I will tomorrow at some point. I'm off hunting for RAW mats at the moment, didn't have any Sulfur! Once I get the MC's engineered, I'll update Inara and start a thread!
The LAVE rescues got me my CAPTAIN badge on Inara!
Speaking of Passengers... WTF??
I pulled your butt out of a burning station and you complain??? If I could figure out WHICH ones were the moaners among the 112 stuffed in the Economy compartments I would SPACE them and let them find their own way to safety

It was the first thing you posted at SimHQ. I made suggestions, put up a couple builds, considered DPS, mass, speed, jump, firepower, protection, and even mocked up the mock up with Guardian stuff. And so naturally we talked about Mower.
Congrats on the new badge and welcome to the Captain's Club Rec! I'm gunning for level 2, but still a ways to go. I ran a few more rescues last night to bump the number a little more. I'm around 7,500 butts delivered and have already passed the 1,000 VIPs.
Aside from the rescues I worked on the Chieftain a bit and took her out bounty hunting. I need Selenium to finish the Chief so I think I'll hit the last bio site I planned several weeks ago and stock up. Need a name for it too.
No, now go away or I shall taunt you a second time!
Apparently there are certain materials that can only be found in Anarchy systems? I joined the dark side again last night and randomly started popping trade ships in these places. T9s are pinatas! No laws, no crime.
Guys I need some help. I've come back to E:D after a 2 year absence (I certainly haven't played it more than a few minutes since they introduced that awful FSS scanner thing) and I'm trying to do some more exploring.
I have the keys sorted out and although I've watched a few tutorials it's doing my head in. I kid you not I spent 15 minutes trying to find the last planet in a 3 planet system
I'm sure as I use it more I can bring that time down somewhat but how can you tell which bodies in a system you have done a probe scan on?
You can tell which planets you have MAPPED using the DSS (Detailed Surface Scanner) because they will have grid lines on them. If you look in the NAV panel, anything that shows UNEXPLORED is something you haven't yet "Discovered" by either using the FSS or flying close enough to "discover" it.
Some systems will already be 100% discovered if you have hit a NAV beacon, or, I think well travelled settled systems may already show at 100% discovered.

Thanks Recluse. I've just found an even better tutorial that answers most of my questions including a tip that would have found that elusive last planet in seconds.
I did notice that you can launch probes whilst in S/C around the planet, is this easier in your experience or is it better from a halt?

I think as long as it is showing IN RANGE, you can use the probes.
I usually just stop (still in Supercruise just throttle to zero) as it makes aiming the Probes easier. Also HIGHLY recommend engineering the DSS for wider coverage. Almost impossible NOT to get the bonus after that.

Same. I fire from a halt at a fairly close distance while in supercruise. With the probe radius engineering it is easier like Rec noted. If you get in to it this time. I want that double engineered DSS from one of the CGs. Hopefully that gets made available like the double engineered FSD.
So I pull up and stop (well, as stopped as you can get in supercruise) One probe gets sent 'over the top' to cover the back side, and then one to each cardinal point to hit on the horizon using the tick mark as the aimpoint, and sometimes a last one straight at the center to cover this side. Depends on the size of the body of course, some can get done with a single probe, some take a dozen.
Chucky, welcome back, good to see you around. The money you'll make will blow you away compared to what it was paying when you were doing this before.
As long as some unscanned ones exist you'll have that show on the spectral analysis. Discounting signal sources, if there are any lines still showing on the spectral analysis there are more left to do. Scanning while parked close to the star can cause bodies to be obscured by it. I'll usually FSS while scooping, then if anything is hidden on the other side of the star I'll hit S/C for 10 seconds to gain some distance, then they should be visible.
Every now and then you'll come across a system with planets very tightly packed, and sometimes I can struggle to locate them all. The last system I visited when I hit the bio sites a few weeks ago was like this. It was a challenge to resolve every planet. But that's exploration haha.

I haven't engineered a single thing with this particular account. Mind you, my two other accounts I'm running have little to no engineering either. I can be very obstinate at times
