Logged on a few times yesterday. Started off with a freight run in the Cutter for the CG. Then hunted a few bounties also for the CG.

I've been burning through my mats lately, with a Cutter from scratch and five of the new FSDs. So I decided to do something about that!

I swapped to the DBX and went to manufactured and encoded traders. Using Inara, I then traded any bins that were full or nearly so. On the encoded side I traded every Adaptive Encryptors Capture away, among others, and flew to the Jameson cobra and farmed it until I had filled that bin up again. I then flew to Dav's Hope and ran a bunch of laps. I've tended to ignore the data point in past visits, but this time I hit it each circuit. Boosted stocks by about 800 mats in total, and now better distribution after all the mat trading. Still a few I have too few of, but I needed to get this done.

Afterwards I returned to Barnwell and ran a couple more trade hops in the Cutter, before wrapping it all up with a quick bounty session at Luyten's Star. Somewhere in there I found the time to work on the Cutter's shield boosters and run a combat test of A-rated sensors in my combat Krait.

Imagine someone trying to find all this stuff without the internet in Elite...

They'd take decades, and get their ass shot off the whole time trying to figure these things out alone. Does the game even give hints about these kinds of places?

I gave up on that within a month or two. I would have no idea about this stuff without the web. I can think of no game where I rely more on outside sources and sites. It is what it is, and I've adjusted easily.

Jameson Cobra and Dav's Hope are invaluable material sources, and I would not know of them if I just relied on the info gained through in-game sources.

Not to mention figuring out the steps needed to unlock the guardian stuff... I just cannot imagine that someone stumbled on one of those sites and figured it all out..

I think once I get my Krait fully engineered, I'm going to head back over to Felicity Farseer's shop and pop some gankers for the lols. I've got no problem with killing folks in Elite, but ambushing noobs who clearly have no engineering on their ships(because FSD is the first engineering you should have done) is pretty lame. Yet there they lurk, waiting for fresh meat. I may even do this in my Cobra MK IV for further humiliation, but I have a special weapon loadout in mind on the Krait with specific modifications that may work well for poppin' hulls.

Well the COMBAT CG is over and we are all burned out...

Here's a possible activity: RESCUE PASSENGERS FROM LAVE STATION

https://hot.forthemug.com/current-events/orange-peel/

I recall doing some of these missions in the past. Kind of exciting.. Heat sinks popping all over. Have to reconfigure a ship for it, though I have a Passenger Python ready (just need to add heat sinks). Large Pads available so maybe I'd use the Anaconda.

Not sure I am up for this but it's a thought for those Commanders looking for a new shiny object...

Yeah I saw that. My Orca is tailor made for incursion rescues. 14% idle. I'll hit some of these for sure. But not too many.

Logged on yesterday and hooked up with Ram on comms, and then Bo arrived. I went and got the Cutter so Ram could take a snapshot of it but then we lost Ram, so Bo and I took his T-10 plus my combat Krait to a Haz RES and blew sh!t up. Good CG for me.

I messed around a little with my HUD colors yesterday. Not sure if I like them, yet, but they sure alter the mood of the cockpit:

If you want to mess around yourself, there's a nice tool here:

Far out, man.

I've been kicking around changing mine up. I like it, but maybe too light for brighter spots. Like CNBs tend to wash out some of the HUD.

We had a thread about it

https://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4467941/hud-colours#Post4467941

Rec posted a link to some presets

Yeah, I didn't like how the portraits were washed out. Neat link in that thread!

Yeah, I changed my colors for awhile, piggybacking on Wingnuts choices. I messed around for awhile but never found one that completely satisfied me. Got used to FRIENDLIES - BLUE ENEMIES-RED COPS-GREEN and never got used to the other colors. Also found some of my Hardpoint labels (like the DSS "TOO FAST" "OUT OF RANGE" etc).. weren't showing up well. I suppose all that could be tweaked, but, in the end I just went back and said YES TO ORANGE...

Same here. Didn't like the way the radar icons showed up, couldn't tell who was who! Back to the basic!

Exactly what I did too, Rec. Yet another example of us needed 3rd party tools to do what FDev should’ve included ingame.

Logged on last night and brought out the Orca. Swapped everything for econocabins and ran some incursion rescues. She seats 86. These were fun to do again. Pretty easy, and I took no damage of any kind. Pop a sink on the way in, and another after lift off.

Then I swapped to Poison Whiskey to hit a few more bounties. I need 38 more for the next level of the Inara Hunter's badge, so I might try to get that this evening.

I did some LAVE STATION rescues for Operation Orange Peel in the Python. Originally had 92 Economy seats, but realized I didn't need the Fuel Scoop or Guardian FSD booster for these runs, so added another 20 seats. Rescued 1083 PAX before quitting for the night

On the board at #41 as of now! No real rewards other than helping out the Truckers...

I take minimal damage every run despite popping heat sinks. Sometimes a Lot of damage when I do something dumb like forget to deploy landing gear and wallow around on the pad forever while overheating.

Only put on 1 Heat Sink launcher so I only have 3 shots. Usually 2 is sufficient like DBOND said, but when I screw up I need the third one.

Lave is the home station for Lave Radio (Broadcasting from an Orange Sidewinder). They are also part of the Hutton Truckers (I guess...though Hutton Truckers don't have any faction presence at LAVE).

To get on the list, you need to download their plugin for EDMC (or sign up on the Web Version). Keeps your stats for Hutton Trucker initiatives.

I used to listen to LAVE Radio podcasts in the early days of Elite Dangerous, but haven't for awhile. There was also a Lave Radio music station that I sometimes listened to via the INARA link while alone in the Black.
