Wow, thealx has been busy. I had no idea there was a separate forum. They look really good.

I've been doing some bits and pieces on my Blackhawk (still) but I've not got much motivation to complete it unfortunately, and I don't know enough to get things finished quickly. So I start, then get frustrated at not knowing how to proceed, and give up again.

Code. Lightwave is easy biggrin I've moved on to using Blender as well now.

I'm trying to work on the MFDs, which are drawn using 2D direct draw code, so it's all about x and y coordinates, line lengths and thicknesses and positioning elements on the MFD. I've got most working using existing MFDs. I was going to make new versions more realistic to the model I'm making, but I've reverted to use existing ones. I just need to get the Engine and Weapons MFD working and it's mostly flyable. Although the flight MFD is very broken, so I need to try and fix that. But I move house in 10 days, so I'll have to stop again.

The forum user is Alx, so I assumed it was. Maybe it's not him.

Confirmed it's not him. He's on the same forums as thealx.

you are great in lw so what's your impressions of the blender? is it simpler? harder? was it hard to move ?
object creation and uvmapping is at what level compared to lw?

I prefer Blender now. I tried it a while ago, before v2.8 and I couldn't get used to the interface and it used right click to select. But since 2.8, they made the interface simpler, and left click to select, so it's much easier to learn now. I think the built in UV mapping tools are also better than LW, but you can probably get paid addons for LW that help.

This is my Instagram for posting 3D work as I've been learning to use it https://instagram.com/square_flux

Is it an issue of creating a new Blackhawk cockpit or an issue of integrating it with the current 1.16.2 beta? There was a more simple one with just modern-style MFDs, right?

The term "necroposting" was invented by a person with no social memory beyond a year. People with a similar hangup are those o.k. with the internet being transient vapor.

There was a more simple model, based loosely on the UH-60M cockpit. I am (or was) doing a slightly more study level based on the MH-60K.

Well that's kind of you to say, but I don't think it's the that high quality. Most of the textures need redone. I'm hoping to have something flyable and usable released this year.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I think Sockzien did it, so you could try searching for his posts. I think it was released as a separate mod.

Hi Reticuli, you can find Sockzien's UH60 pit in the 1.15.4 version.

Nice to see, but where is it? There are a lot of nice pics and videos about EECH Allmods improvements, but nothing ever was made public. That's the problem in my opinion.

These look like someone is adding Arneh's avionics changes that he worked on 10+ years ago. They've always been parked on a separate branch in the code, but never finished off. There's also cockpit improvements being added. I think I know who this is from, but I'm not getting into it, because if it is them, they weren't all that friendly towards me when I asked about the changes. I'm also out of EECH now anyway.

I hope it gets released though, as it's good work, and a long overdue update.
