I’d pay going ticket price to watch him play these drums In a Rush cover band. If I ever win the lottery, one of the first things I’m doing is writing to Alex & Geddy to get their blessing for Drum Workshop to send this kid a complete Time Machine drum kit. Maybe they’d even travel to the Philippines to play with him.

You can’t teach that. That’s natural talent right there.

I’d definitely say he was taught (had formal lessons) but some people, like me, will never be coordinated enough to be that good.

I'd say the great majority of people don't have the coordination to play a competent level of drums. Then you have a small minority of people who can play drums at about a Ringo Starr level and then you have the perhaps less than 1% of people who can play drums like the guy in the video.

She has some great talent and I myself am a huge Beatles fan. Just to be clear, I wasn't putting down Ringo's talent but simply making the point that while Ringo was a pretty good drummer, he was not what I would call a top tier drummer like Neil Peart, Keith Moon or John Bonham.

Oh all fine I took it just as you said, Ringo being a great drummer.. I stumbled upon her like maybe a year ago and this thread remembered me of her - I was actually looking for her playing Tom Sawyer (she's 15-16 there, playing the drums since 10), but then I also stumbled upon that tribute to Ringo, and thought that might make a better post. I mean - the circumstances of the two couldn't be more different, with the equipment, recordings, post-production,... apart for the great talent that they share.
And as I type, I watch this
... and now I also read this post in the comments:

I hope you are both safe and well. While we are in this “lockdown” situation and not able to play our music in the normal way,I thought you might like to have a bit of drumming fun. Obviously we can,t meet personally at this time,(apart from the Covid situation we are in different parts of the world!). I was thinking of creating something between the 3 of us . Nothing serious or demanding, and definitely “not” a drum “battle”. More like an orchestral percussion section, working with, and for each other. As we all know, the technology available to us today allows us to do this as if we were in the same room.
I have thought no further than this at the moment, but as we have all had positive responses to our clips on You Tube,it could be fun to do something together.
Let me know if its something you may enjoy doing and I will start working out the details.

YouTube is recommending a lot of Rush drum covers now. Here’s the latest.

Yeah, that guy is very good! I'm not surprised that many drummers are doing covers of Rush songs. You might as well emulate the best.
