Ok so basically a tough as nails woman takes revenge against those who committed a terrible act against those she loves but the perpetrators are powerful and influential and hard to get.

So kinda like "Taken" but with a female protagonist instead of male!

They do but they are making tv shows and not movies. The plot for this French film you posted about has been done a million times already with slight variations.

It's on Netflix. One monthly price for everything. I might watch it.

Why watch a movie you know you'll sleep through?

Yes, if you are totally bored with nothing else to do then check it out!

20 minutes and shut it. Not funny. Full of the stuff which had no place in the story that movies are forcing on audiences. https://www.amazon.com/Coming-2-America-Eddie-Murphy/dp/B08QZN6LCM

A quick Google:

Many academics, most notably author Christopher Booker, believe that there are only seven basic plot structures in all of storytelling – frameworks that are recycled again and again in fiction but populated by different settings, characters, and conflicts.

Those seven plots are:

Overcoming the Monster
Rags to Riches
The Quest
Voyage and Return
Rebirth
Comedy
Tragedy

This is pretty spot on.

Good characters are a must, and intertwining styles with plot twists, and flipping tropes on their head helps, too.

Cramming political agenda down an audience's throat, however...

I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

Watch 35 min. Not very good. The sex scene was not needed. May come back to it tomorrow.

NFB, have you seen the 1988 movie They Live?

Old and somewhat cheesy but still relevant IMO.

Watching Douglas MacArthur documentary. They says he is one of the most decorated officer and General in U.S. Army history and the most misunderstood and underestimated by his peers and by Presidents.

They also say that MacArthur's adjutant and aide of 7 years from 1932-1939, 4 of those in the Phillipines was a U.S. Army Major named Dwight Eisenhower. I just learn something new.
