. Had halibut one time and will not eat it again. Why not/how was it cooked? Halibut (at least Atlantic Halibut) has a fairly mild flavour & grows up to 500lb so you shouldn't be able to complain about just getting a small portion from it ... : P Apparently in some parts of the world some fish are passed off as halibut that really aren't ... It's an expensive fish here as due to demand it is rare/largely fished out here but there is at least 1 place that farms them.
