I was just reading about Daft Punk ending their collaboration after 28 years and it got me thinking about other music acts that have been around for a long time. Is there any group out there which has been active for a longer time than the Rolling Stones? Their debut album was in 1964 and they were still touring right up until the pandemic. That means the Stones have been an active group now for about 57 years! WOW.

I had no idea the Oak Ridge Boys went that far back.

Golden Earring has been around since 1960, I think.

I imagine there are many especially in the form of band continuation but with changing members. The Chuck Wagon Gang started in 1935.

Bands with original members may be a trickier scenario but I imagine there are still many out there, especially the working class kind of bands.

Clannad started around 1970 and will soon be having a farewell tour from what I read.

John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band started in 1972 and they still perform. There have been new members over the years but John Cafferty is still leading the band.

Did not know there were so many long lived bands/groups.
