Sure everyone sitting on that side of the plane needs new underwear. I would. Catastrophic Engine failure even broke through the containment housings. Going to be an interesting NTSB investigation.

My life will not be complete until I stand in the middle of Red Square, so I'll have to fly at least one more time. Not looking forward to it as I'm not a good flyer (nor elevator or high-wired cable car rider) although I've kept my fear contained...so far.
That incident would have scared me beyond anything I can predict. If wife was with me I'd be ok, I think.

There's more video too of folks at a park filming lots of material falling from the sky. That would be a disconcerting experience too to see that. Another passenger footage shows them landing and the airport fireman hosing them down. Thankfully everyone is okay. I saw some youtube comments saying another Boeing passenger plane the very same day had an engine failure too. Does anyone know anything about that?

We flew on a vacation years ago and Dad let me sit at window during landing. The entire cover on the engine open up and we were still in the air. I told Dad the plane broke. He said everything is okay. The flight attendants should tell the passengers when they announce to fasten seat belts, we are landing, that any one sitting by window if you see the engine cover open up, don't panic, it's normal. It was like this.

Last time I looked, Boeing doesn't make the engines.

Thrust Reversed on high. We hear it all the time living in the flight path to Spokane
P&W, R-R Trent or GE engines on the B777. The engine was a P&W and threw a fan blade.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB. The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed. There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
