To turn on the battery for the motor in the rear hub, and power to my lights and my mini control panel.

It also unlocks or locks the battery in place.

Oh, and arm the anti-Prius weapon. lawncareby20mm

Glad you said that...

I invested in a couple of chrome valve caps for the tires. Forgot to install them,..thought maybe I should wait, I could end up having to fight off the redneck hotrod chicks along with the hairy armpit tree huggers!

It's pretty fun to watch people stare when you cross the street without pedaling THEN start to pedal.

It's really a lot of fun so far. My sister said I should wear a helmet, and she would send me one! I said thanks but I wont wear it. I wear a floppy bush hat to keep the sun off me.

edit: Will eventually make a video to bore you guys to death.

I'm no fan of the Prius, but it's amusing to see a bunch of "freedom lovers" get all uptight about someone else's choice of car...

I don't get "triggered" if I see someone in a Prius, or a truck, or anything. I feel sorry for anyone who would over a car model. It's the IDIOT BEHIND THE WHEEL that triggers me, regardless of what they're driving...

Yeah everyone thinks the same way, but me and anyone else who's spent a lot of time riding motorcycles knows what I'm talking about. All car drivers are idiots to us...

A fellow Fencer had an Esprit.....used to deride my first new car, a Hyundai Pony, the first Korean car for sale in Britain. But he had endless problems and had to eat his words eventually; constant overheating and plug-fouling issues on our congested roads, electrics were terrible and it leaked during rainfall. Oft vandalised out of jealousy....English don't like Flash Grunts (Rhyming Slang; 'Grumble & Grunt' = "'ee's a bit of a Grumble, that geezer wiv 'is flash motor").

Sold it to his business partner who wrapped it round a tree, dying as a consequence.

Yikes! eek2 So you're saying that the Esprit was about on par with the DeLorean (also styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro)? smile I don't know man, had I the means I might have taken my chances as I would have with an '88 Fiero GT had their run continued into 1989+ (the Fieros that spontaneously combusted were all first model year [1984] 4-bangers [V6 not offered yet]).

My '89 CRX Si was rock solid (starting my loyalty with Honda) but was no Fiero; it couldn't fill the hole in my heart for missing my dream car, nor could my '99 Civic Si. The Fiero in proper trim was to me as close as you could get to an affordable exotic, and that's without any interesting aftermarket...

It's funny you should mention people starring at you as go by without pedaling. I was looking out the window this morning as a guy on a bike went by the house. It took me a second to realize he was going at a pretty good clip without even pedaling. As I was thinking he is going way too fast on that bike with all this snow and ice on the ground, his front tire lost traction and he went down pretty hard. It didn't look like he had those fat tires, but I don't know if that would have made a difference. He got back up and slowly rode away.

Speaking of car hate...

My cars were never vandalized or anything like that, but in the 80's and within certain circles, I got negs for buying Japanese. Funny thing is that some of the most vocal back in the day now own new Toyotas and Nissans. biggrin

A long time ago I worked winter maintenance on docked Great Lake freighters at Ford's River Rouge plant. They had a special parking lot way in the back for people crazy enough to drive foreign cars to work there. One day a guy in a Toyota parked in the front lot that was for Ford's only. They actually welded his car doors shut. It was the craziest thing I ever saw. I had bought an old Ford Fiesta for $500, just to drive to work there. Glad I did.

My Fiero of course had the V6, being a GT.

The car had been set up for autocross type racing and the engine was significantly more powerful than stock.

We never got too far into it, but it had aluminum heads {which weren't available from the factor that year}, aftermarket rocker arms, definitely a cam, a performance exhaust and a cold air intake using a functional side scoop. I suspect it might have had its crankshaft swapped with one from the 3.1 version of that engine, which was considerably stronger and a high priority mod for 60 degree V6 guys.

The thing had no low end torque but was respectably fast once you got moving.

Originally I bought the car to perform a Chevy V8 swap on, but it ended up being stolen before I could even begin.

I'm not sure if I would have wound up going with the V8 though, its a lot of hassle and there are plenty of other options to make decent power in those cars.

Very cool, Crane. thumbsup

Years ago I had subscriptions to several car rags and knew at least some details about the hot American cars of the day like the Fox/SN95 vs. F-body ('Stangs vs. CamBirds), 5.0's/302's vs. 5.7's/LT1's, IROC-Z/Z28's and ZR-1's, Northstars, Iron Dukes, Quad-4's and ECOTEC's...jazz like that. I've forgotten most of it except that I remember that the 3800 series something-or-another V6 was a popular Fiero swap.

I might have ended up going with a Pontiac Super Duty 4, they were a strong race motor based on the Iron Duke motor, basically half of a Chevy small block, that I should have been able to get at least 350 horsepower out of easily, while not having the kinds of packaging and fabrication issues that some of the other swaps would have had at that time.

Plus, it was a Pontiac motor, sort of.

I’ve got a couple electric bikes. The kind that are electric and pedal are really good. Here are two of those that I load in the airplane so the wife and. Can use them when we land somewhere. The handlebars collapse and fold in and the bike folds in half. Pretty compact, but heavy and cumbersome enough that they require removing the back seat.

And then I have two electric only. They are smaller, lighter and don’t require removing the rear seat.

Speaking of Pontiac, how about a 3355 wheel horsepower twin turbo GTO?
