Of course I can't see any reason to actually pre-order, there are no price breaks or extra trinkets included, but if you absolutely must get this purchase out of the way, you can do so now smile

CMRT is my second favorite CMx2 title, after Normandy. I've had hundreds of hours of good gameplay with it.

Battlefront can go in whichever direction they darn well please. However, I am uninspired by the late-war focus.

If they had instead returned to 1941, I'd be all over it.

And that name. Of course this wasn't the original title, whatever it was was a copyright infringement, so they had to change it. I took the opportunity to suggest a few names. These are what I put forward

Across the Oder
Final Assault
Red Vengeance (maybe too much in that?)
Reckoning

For me the combat loses some of its appeal as the lethality of the weapons systems goes up. I want 1941/1942 East Front action. I have CMBB and played some last year. But I just find no excitement with 1945 East Front. I might pick it up eventually, but I waited seven years now for an expansion to Red Thunder and they chose to make the one I don't want.

We won't see it, at least for CMx2, sadly.

If it came out in the next couple of years I'd be pleasantly shocked.

It's just way too long, the development cycles for Battlefront. The team is too small, and they have too many plates spinning with their non-CM commitments. It's a shame really. But it took seven freakin' years just to get this expansion, which it should be noted has not been released and has no release date. As I posted on their boards the other day, at this rate it will be 21 years before 1941 biggrin

I'm so apathetic about it all any more. I enjoy the titles I have, which is most of them, but excitement or anticipation for anything in the pipeline is near zero. These modules need to be coming out every 6 months, or a year at most.

I love their tactical simulation, but everything else is so stuck in place.

Just want to add I am eating my words and a big enough man to admit it. Cold War is a bolt from the blue and surely had a hand in the Fire and Rubble delays. I'm so excited about CMCW that the F&R time is excused biggrin
