Woo hoo!! Counting down. Nothing longer than the shipping wait for new gear!
I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on Thrustmaster MFD's myself...

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

Enjoy them. Mine have been faultless. I’ve combat style foot rests and damper added to mine.

Do you guys have any new-owner tips? I didn't buy any of the extras. Bo these things you mentioned, were they extra, and how did you know to order, or did you add them later?

I don't have any extras for mine. The footrests are adjustable, it might take a bit of adjustment to get them set up the way you want them comfort-wise, but it's worth it.

Thanks JC. Can't wait, these are going to make me a better pilot I am sure. In combat, landings, all of it. It's the final piece of the puzzle.

I've been meaning to do a landing video, to show how I do it. I'll wait until I have these and become adjusted to them.

You also get a couple of different cams - Cam 4 and Cam 6, which change the feel of the pedals. I settled on Cam 6 for myself.
It's been long enough that I can't tell you the exact reason why I liked it over 4, but I do remember I like the center detent better.

Thanks JC, I'll experiment if the initial config isn't comfortable. Thanks for the advice.

Logged in last night but didn't have much time. Split it in to two 30 minute sessions. Hit about eight HGEs and did some bounty hunting, all in my home system. Too bad because I got a great spawn of high level ships, but couldn't stick around for long. The HGEs were lucrative of course. Fed, boom, the normal stuff -- Core Dynamics and Proprietary Composites mostly.

Hit 51% Deadly, it's all downhill from here!

Just another 1,470 to go! biggrin

As detailed in the geological biological sites thread I am out farming G4 raws. Farming isn't really the right word. Don't even need to relog. Having a good time, especially with the rover. In all, the trip will add another 4000 light years to my distance traveled total. Need about 45k to get the second tier badge on Inara. And just five days to go on the wingman badge. Haha, lots of cabbage on my page. In all, this trip will have netted me over 1000 of the rarest mats. Time well spent.

All of my badges are level 1, and the higher they go the more awesome they look. Wingnuts' level 4 hunter badge is sweet smile How many bounties is that? 20k?

I still have three stops to make as I weave my way back to the bubble. One for Antimony, one for Yttrium and one for Selenium. Then I need to get back to some combat.

I have two ships I bought for roles I did not end up using them for. A Diamondback Scout for scout hunting, and a Phantom for a fast rumble bus role. Once I found it was not well-suited to the intended role (due to optional slot classes) I put her back in the barn and there she has sat. I decided I wanted to make a deep space scientific exploration vessel out of it with all attendant explo doodads. Maybe I'll get started on that.

The Scout? Not sure really. It's like the Dolphin I bought and sold last year. A really good, underrated ship, but I struggle to identify it's role within my fleet. I know many commanders have massive fleets, but I like the notion of a small, focused, dedicated fleet. Feels right for me. I'll kick the DBS around and see what sticks.

Checked my playtime yesterday. I've been saying I am approaching 2000 hours, but according to the codex it is 8 weeks, 2 days and 4 hours, or 1,396 hours in all. I was sure it was more. But I think I'm doing well for that amount of time, some commanders have 5,000 or even 10,000 hours in this game. I'd be interested to know where you guys stand.

Ran in to an old friend from our Falcon 4 days over at Frugal's on the Frontier boards and maybe he will join us here.

Now back from my raws gathering trip, I think I'll pop over and turn in last weeks CG then do some combat sweeping and maybe get another point on the rank. Hit some HGEs, you know, the normal routine smile

Got an email, the Crosswinds are due to be delivered today. Good times.

Nice, and no signs of slowing down Rec.

It's an interesting case Elite. It's a game that maybe we all have said at one point is more shallow than deep, yet it's compelling in so many ways that we keep coming back to it, or for some commanders, never left. I started in spring of 2017, Horizons was already out. I only play about 4 months each year, but when I am playing it's at a high burn, ya know? But then one day I just stop and it goes on the shelf for the other eight months, and then come spring I am back again. Weird.

All that Ruthenium I got on that trip is already paying off since it is used for deep plating. Sitting at Prospector's Rest at the mo giving some HRPs the finishing touch.

Yes.. for me, Elite Dangerous is the comfortable old shoe that i could always slip into without much stress. Usually, during a hiatus, if I saw a new update drop, I would jump back in so I wouldn't be too far behind when I finally got back in.

It is always amazing to me that I still get sucked back in even after a month or more of inactivity and TOTAL Disinterest..

I'm making the Engineer rounds to finish off the Long Range Asp project. Still haven't accomplished the Coriolis predicted jump range, but it is close enough and is equivalent or slightly better than the DBX, so MIssion Accomplished.

Post up the Coriolis build when it's done, I'd like to have a look. Do you have a trip planned for her maiden voyage? Have you been to Colonia, and have the engineers out there unlocked?

I went out to Colonia with Bo on his carrier and unlocked one Engineer. Didn't see the point in the others. Nothing special planned. Gonna go back out and get the stuff to unlock the last Guardian Fighter when I can steel myself for the GRIND for Guardian technology components and Epsilon Patterns.

OK here is the ASP..

https://s.orbis.zone/cphj

Put on a cargo rack so I could pick up the Fighter Blueprint key.

Could probably drop the Guardian Shield Reinforcement, but I doubt that would gain very much jump.

Good enough..

Good jump, thanks for posting it. Two things I want to mention...

Why the D-rated scoop? What's your thinking there?

And a 3D GSR is half the mass, but maybe that's what you had sitting around.

That's fantastic jump range for an AspX.

The reason I unlocked all four Colonia engineers was for the extra pinned blueprints.

Yeah I had the 5D scoop in storage. I totally missed the GSR.. Not sure why I grabbed an E. Too quick on the Outfitting click I guess. I will swap that out for sure.

By the way, Wingy gets the credit for anything good about this build.. I just took his design and made a few tweaks based on what I had and what Engineering I could stomach sicko

Nice ship Rec, you gotta come up with a purpose for it now haha. Would make a great bubble runner, planetary lander and plenty of other things of course. I sold my Asp, but for a long time it was my most versatile ship.

Hey Rec my build only got to 61.3 ly in game. Did yours accept the 3A power plant? Mine would only do fours. I did it yesterday.

BTW, Phantom still wins for consistent range / jumps
