I have been working on it smile

As you can see I have found a way to display the names of the "Dir.set" (theatre files) in the "LongDirSets" folder and the names of the plane-set folders in the "Multiplayer Planesets" folder. That is it for now.

What I need to do is to display the names of the items that are not listed because there are too many to fit on the page. That should not be too difficult.
Then the real work starts wink
When the user clicks on a "Dir.set" file the exe needs to copy that file in the "LongDirSets" folder and paste it into the root folder as "DirSet".
Trickier still is the planeset selection. If a user clicks on one the exe needs to look in the selected folder, copy the "FMDir.set" and "PDir.set" files and paste them into the "GameData" folder.
File management is much trickier in C that in Visual Basic, so it may be a steep learning curve and it may take some time wink

Very nice job.

What happens if the player has more than 20 plane sets? For instance, I have 53 plane sets, soon to be expanded by another 12-15 sets for the Eastern planes.

Does another page appear or is there a scroll function?

Also, how would a player add the new plane sets? Would it be as simple as using the Windows copy/paste function and then EAW automatically displays them on this new page?

Could you add a pop up that lists the planes in each set when the mouse rolls over the plane set name?

I have got this far.

Using a folder with a lot of planesets and theatres I have crude scrolling system, and as you can see on the right I can select the name of the theatre "dir.set" file, and the name of the plane-set folder. The text displayed matches the clicks smile
The next step is the copying of the theatre file to the root folder as a "dir.set" file, and this is where I may need help smile

Brilliant.

Any way to let the player know which planes are in the set?

Not yet!
I can get the name of the folder, but cannot access the files in C let alone read them wink
File management in C is a PITA

Hi Tony,

great work!

it should be possible to display the Plane names from the planname.str files in a 3rd row. Probably the planeset would need to get selected 1st, but then the names are already loaded.

Greetings,

Knegel

I have just successfully chosen a theatre and flew it. smile
I had just one little surprise, but when I thought about it, the reason was obvious.
I had loaded EAW with the default ETO main screen, then went to config to get the new theatre. I chose a Pacific one.
When I left config to fly I still had the default ETO main screen, but when I flew it was certainly the Pacific theatre. The next time I play I will have the Pacific mainscreen wink

It is working wink

Don't know how you do it, but you always come through.

Thanks.

Hi Tony,

Thats looking good!!

if i remember right, for the Planeset selection in EAW1.28e i did use the initial loading code, at gamestart, to reload the Planes again while the game was running. That should also work for the theatres, so you dont need to restart EAW, before you get all files loaded.

Happy Weekend!!
