Meh. The original movie was decent but I'm not enough of a fan of the ST universe for me to play an RTS based on it.

I was so hyped when I learned that Starship Troopers was going to be made into a film years ago... when it came out I was so disappointed. It didn't even come close to anything I read in Robert Heinlein's book of the same name.

Exactly so that means that the only unique thing this new game has to lean on is the Starship Trooper property and quite frankly how many people will still care 24 years after the movie was released?

There was a Starship Trooper PC game in 2005. However, it was an FPS. I remember playing a demo of it--maybe on one of those free disks that used to come in each PC Gamer magazine. It got mostly poor reviews--averaging about a 5 out of 10. I see some copies for sale on eBay and through associated sellers on Amazon. They are asking collector prices of $50 or more.

Actually, I would favor an FPS over an RTS but that's just a personal preference for the subject matter.

The voice acting in that video was atrocious and I could immediately tell from the gameplay shown that the combat mechanics were no different from the other million or so FPS games that have been made.
