Hi Tony,

Both Boelcke and Immelmann flew with FA62 in late 1915 early 1916. This squadron is based in Flanders.

So if you want to meet them in the skies you want to have a career in the Flanders/Somme area going around that time. Boelcke then moved onto KEK Sivry near Verdun in Spring 1916 and Immelmann to KEK Nord around the same time.

Cheers

Albert

"A great deal of an aeroplane could be holed without affecting its ability to fly. Wings and fuselage could be—and often were—pierced in 50 places, missing the occupants by inches (blissfully unaware of how close it had come until they returned to base). Then the sailmaker would carefully cover each hole with a square inch of Irish linen frayed at the edges and with a brushful of dope make our aircraft 'serviceable' again within an hour."

I have encountered them on 2 occasions early in the war along the coast while flying 1/2 strutters in an RNAS squadron. I was able to shoot Boelcke's engine out once and he crashed landed, was so excited to shoot down a famous ace but even though I claimed a kill the command said I couldn't confirm it!!! Argggg...lol The one time I encountered Immelmann, we entered into a turning dogfight but he eventually broke off and headed for home at altitude, I could not catch back up with him and he got away.

Are the aces scripted to die when they historically did?
