Hi, I tried now these steps. The game works, even with funky graphics in main menu^^ But I couldn´t load custom missions and haven´t found the WC3.MNU file. Where do I find the file? Best regards Auriel EDIT: Found the file in a previous download. Still doesn´t work

Hi there ! I'm currently trying to install commanche gold on a windows 10 machine, just for a test because I'd like to give this game (and the missions I'll be able to make) to my father (we played this together in my young age), so, on the one hand it has to be simple and I have to remember the step by step process and on the other hand I'd like to know if I can get the MIDI music to work on a fresh install (different from my Windows 7 installation) So then, an observation : - What's happening with http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/2/1/helicopters ? It seems like I can only reach this thread through google, as if the forum wasn't working. It may be reachable as I am currently volontarily upping this topic, but that's terrible for any other ressources that seems not to display when not in the three newer topics. Hello FatCatProject , To see all threads look at the bottom of the page at "Category Display Options" http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/2/1/helicopters In "Show From Previous " menu choose "All Threads" option and press the button "change" in right. I run Comanche Gold om Windows10 Enterprise 64 bit and on Windows10 Pro 64 bit . On the both systems the "In game music" works fine. There is an one difference between Windows7 and Windows10 installation of Comanche Gold . Windows10 installation needs a DXGL or a Dgvoodoo2 for the visualization of the game.on the modern computers I use Dgvoodoo2 because it is easier way and it gives 1280x1024,resolution, which is the highest possible resolution of the game FOR Windows10 installation YouTube video - "Comanche Gold on Windows 10 Full Tutorial". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9wa8eERMR4FOR DXGL installation YouTube video lesson : "Tutorial - How to Play Comanche Gold on Windows 8" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAIF3XUTlUIFOR Dgvoodoo2 installation First you download Dgvoodoo 2.53 from "http://dege.freeweb.hu", then open the Zip file and copy "dgVoodooSetup.exe" and every .dll file in the "MS" folder into your Comanche Gold folder. Thanks again ufo ! I finally got ingame music AND a really quick way to install . I'm gonna soon be able to write my own .midi scenes heheh ! And thanks for the forum's behavior advice ! Now, let's get back to work

Anyone else get a lot of jiggly jello terrain? I'm not sure if that's just the way framerate manifests or not.
My best image so far, other than the above issue and the fact detail distant objects and the terrain still transition to higher detail as you get closer, is is with FXAA, SMAA, both technicolors, and AMD, and Lumasharp. The AA ones I turned the thresholds all the way down and blur all the way up. Predictive thing on. Corner rounding to 50%. Not sure if it's helping, but looks ok other than jello effect and inability to make everything high detail at any range.
Man I hate helo 'game' attitude limits and wings leveling. Wonder how that cliche/trope/lameness started.

I always thought that the limited movement of the Comanche in CG was quite realistic, whether intended that way or simply a byproduct for being a casual sim. I mean, the real Comanche had a specific flight mode for low-level flight which prevented the airframe from rolling, etc. Simply being under about 60kts did that, regardless of whether pilot was in position hold (for hovering) or velocity hold (useful for NOE) on the 'right side' of the control laws... so like VC / VH or VC / PH. Assuming speed and attitude could still be determined, at low speed you usually commanded velocity (or a change in it) with the X and Y on the sidestick on the 'left side' of the control laws, because commanding velocity doesn't need full authority. If sensors for speed or attitude were degraded, it reverted to simple limiting of how much rotation rate an axis' port could command. NOE flight was considered something you did below about 60kts. I don't think my tendency to zoom along at 100kts and 20ft off the ground would be considered very safe. Strange that I do that in CG, though, because when I run Longbow 2 it's always keeping altitude and speed about the same to be safe. Anyway, when cruising you could still turn on velocity hold and effectively get pitch attitude limiting, at least. The rest of the time the main control laws and the core control law was rate-command / attitude-hold. So if something broke or you were over about 60kts plus didn't have some specific mode on, then it'd go back to that.

hello, i am new to this kind of game and etc. i did manage to finish the first set of missions (after the training) with my keyboard and my flightstick ( Logitech 3D Pro "Extreme") But i having trouble with some controls like the two buttons on the right of my flightstick controls the max to min collective, and i was wondering if i could re-bind those to other buttons (especially to change targeting modes) i tried to google for a while until i decided to join the forum for this question. Also, not as important, but the training mission "graduation day" bugged, and now everytime i trie to play after a lot of tries, the tanks and helicopters are gone already, and my co-op is on the waypoint with ground forces fighiting there everytime i restart the mission I was wondering if i could "rebbot" the mission to be like it was before, without deleting my progress (but i did finish the first set of missions that allowed me to play the last one, so is not that of a huge deal) And before i forgot, thanks for this guide, really helped me to make this game work on my pc!
