Has anyone been getting a lot of these calls lately? I've received several on my work cellphone over the past 2 weeks and my block list is now quite extensive. I really wish there was a way to clamp down on these a$$holes who send out these automated calls.

Yes. Apparently the warranty on my leased automobile is constantly running out.

Is it about your car warranty is about expire? I must get at least 2 a day from different phone numbers. I have always just used the manufactory warranty and when it runs out the money I saved by not having additional insurance covers the my costs.

I would say about 80% are about my car warranty expiring and the other 20% are in Chinese!

Of course not. It is fishing for info and/or money.

Just like the emails I get saying that I have to act NOW before my Paypal account is put on hold, emails that do not come from a Paypal domain.

Hint: I don't have a Paypal account

I get calls all the time telling my car warranty expires..Haven't owned a car in 3 years..I get calls from travel agencies saying their records show I have taken cruises with them before..Well never went on a cruise since 1970 and that was when I was in the Marines..Gave up trying to block them they switch numbers..I depend on caller ID on my TV..If it isn't family I just don't answer

I've been getting calls from groups claiming to be police support groups, and they sound live and it took me a while to figure out that they are prerecorded because I would usually just hang up. I stayed on once just to harass the caller and discovered it was prerecorded. I found since then that if I just ask if the call is recorded, it disconnects.

I don't know if they have something that tells them to disconnect if they think the recipient has figured out it's a prerecorded call, or maybe if they hear the word "recorded" they think someone it recording the call.

I guess because it's a hot real estate market, I've been getting calls - usually from live people - about buying one of my houses. I probably get about 3 a week, plus stuff in the mail.

lately I've gotten social security has detected "fridulent" activity on my account and must speak to their agent to avoid arrest. I forwarded to the SS fraud site. I searched the number and it came from a fax machine which they spoofed from a local substance treatment center. When i called them at their office number, the secretary said their fax number had been ringing constantly. She asked if i knew how to deal with this annoyance, and all i could suggest was to contact their carrier.
i get the car warranty scam a lot too, in spite of my vehicles ranging from '78 chevy pickup to 2001 mazda.

I got 2 today. One automated, the other was a live call from Amazon 'support' who I fully intended to string along and then insult with a few choice Indian phrases but I guess he perhaps knew what was coming and ended the call. It's been unusual lately to get a live call, they've been almost all automated.

I get quite my fair share of this and have in the past considered a change of number but as it will cost me I haven't bothered.

As far as I am aware we don't get the car warranty scam in the UK or the IRS type ones. Mainly fake virus, Amazon and accident calls.

You can try and block them, but now they just spoof the number that appears on your phone, so it changes everytime.

Here the accent is usually Indian.

They come in spurts of a week or two and then come back in few months.

The main one these days is duct cleaning services. I tell them my duck poop in the yard needs cleaning up.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

My friend f with them: he talks dirty to them. He tells them he is not wearing any clothes and ask them if they are wearing any.

One time he got the ''we can lower your interest rate on your credit card" call and he mess with them for 20 minutes telling them he wanted a higher rate.

Quote
Sales caller: you're paying at least 13%, right?

My friend: yes, I want 20

Sales caller: you want a higher rate? why?

My friend: well, because it's more money

Another time he got the ''your Apple account has been compromised'' call: he kept asking if they were red delicious apples or green apples?

Or do this:

They are prolly multi-tasking in some virtual phone center sweatshop. In between customer service for some fortune 500 corp, they do spam calls.

No they are special shops. Some got busted a few months ago. RCMP and Indian police are working together to shut them down but as soon as one gets busted another pops up.

This week I received new type of robocalls that leave a message: They have call three times last time 10 minutes ago,

Hey there this is (Lenore/Kevin/Ted). I'm not sure if I have the right number or not but if I do I love to chat with you about a property that you have for sale. You can reach me at ########## (number in Alabama, Carolina, New Mexico). Thanks and have a great day.

We don't have property for sale. Scam Risk is on the caller ID and the numbers showing are Florida, Arksansa, Missouri.
