my 20th comes around June, but my postings are only one fifth of yours, my typing is so poor that I skip responding more often than not.

That's a bummer. Hopefully sims have a resurgence someday. It could happen.

We have plenty of "prolific posters" here.

I am not there, never have been or ever will be, but the fruitless search may be more gratifying then the "content" you might otherwise be exposed to.

This is crazy. Like a lot of my fellow combatsim.com refugees (comrades, I salute you!), I've been on this site for twenty years now. Or in other words, for a little over half my life.

It's really mindboggling to think how much has changed since... how much I personally have changed... And yet very reasuringly, this place has stayed quite the same.

There are many fine human beings here who could crash at my place anytime, and I know the same holds true in reverse.

Thankful for having been a part of this place for so long,

Helmut

PS: Also thankful none of my employeers knows my post count here, least they do the math on how many workplace minutes I spent elsewhere wink

Congrats on that milestone thumbsup.
Been here since Dec 03, 2008 so just a little over 13 years myself.

Yeah I remember him quite well since he's also a big David Lynch fan and I had quite a few good conversations with him about Lynch's films during his time on SimHQ.

Well, a few of those folks who post else where are on sites with members on the extreme of the other political persuasion. Not saying the members are, but the other folks are pretty noticeable right away with profile pictures, etc.

Seems a divide is forming here, much like the rest of the world.

PWEC exists to keep that stuff in a tidy spot, but I suppose some cannot separate that from general flight simming, which is a shame. We're a small, niche group of folks, so no sense in allowing something like politics ruin our hobby.

Agreed. Several former members specifically said they left SimHQ because the PWEC forum existed. I guess they couldn't control themselves and use their own free will to not participate in PWEC? Oh well, their loss.

Ya PWEC, some things can't be unseen lol
PWEC has jaded my experience here at SimHQ. I grew tired of the political rhetoric and victim statements.
The divide is not restricted to PWEC. PM your statement about people not being able to control themselves and use their own free will adds to the polarization of this community. These people have used their free will and decided to post elsewhere, it's just not the same free will as you. That's why it's called free will. This is a basic concept
And when people use the free will and it looks different than yours, you attribute it to an inherent weakness.

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. Leaving a website because you couldn't stand that a certain forum existed on it would be like someone quitting Netflix because a single show was on that streaming service that greatly offended them.
