As you can see, my plane is off a little to the left. It's not centered. And, that make my shots off. I have to try and aim a little to the right of what I'm shooting at.

Press F6 and you should be in a view mode where you're aiming down the sight. Press F6 again to return to the centered view.

MACHINE GUN FIRE: CAMBRIN by ROBERT GRAVES (September 25 1915)

The torn line wavers, breaks, and falls. 'Get up, come on!' the captain calls 'Get up, the Welsh, and on we go!' (Christ, that my lads should fail me so!) A dying boy grinned up and said: 'The whole damned company, sir; it's dead.' 'Come on! Cowards!' bawled the captain, then Fell killed, among his writhing men.

Or, if you are using a head-tracker such as TrackIR, you obviously should be moving your head to look down the gunsights like a real pilot would.

The gun has a convergence built in to hit the target at a given distance, so it you are to close it hits to the right, to far away it will hit to the left. If you want to use the sights on the gun hit the F6 as explained above. It is the same as the gun on the top wing of a Nieuport or SE5 and even to a worse effect the guns on a N28c. When you have two guns (directly in front of the pilot) they will converge at a given distance like on the WWII planes.

I used F6 before and don't like it. But, I went back in and tried it, and no difference.

I don't have TrackIR.

I guess I'll learn to shoot cross-eyed.

Thanks for your suggestions. Happy flying.

There is a way to change it and I had to many years ago. I will try to find that for you.

It likely won't be changed for WOFF UE/PE but the viewpoints have been revised in many aircraft including the Eindeckers for the next major release of WOFF.

I did a test flight in an Alb. D.I and a Sopwith Pup and both were right down the middle. It only occurred in the Fokker E.I for Jasta 15, and E.III for Jasta 4. So, the update is good news. Thanks, Polovski.

@OP,

The off-center view sometimes also shows up if you try the padlock lock-on while you are in the "F6" view, for example, and then go back to default centered view directly from padlock.

This situation requires getting back into the F6 view once more, re-centering to default cockpit view again, doing the padlock view again, and then once more re-centering to default cockpit view. A bit of experimentation may be needed but such toggles have never failed to reset me to perfectly centered cockpit view. (Comments above relevant to the Fokk. E.II but will probably work the same way for the E.I and E.III.)

In short: F6+padlock+default cockpit view --- sometimes creates this off-center view
Possible solution: F6+default cockpit view+padlock+default cockpit view

It happens when I first load the sim. As soon as I'm in the cockpit, it's off center. I don't use F6. All I do, besides staying in default view, is to use my right mouse click to look around, to which it'll center itself, which you already know. I'll just get used to it. Besides, in a few months, Sept. of 1916, I'll be in a Halberstadt D.II. If I live long enough. wink

Doesn't the sim automatically start in the view you were in when you left the previous session?

Yes, and it's off center.
