Anybody from the Military Monday crew interested in getting the Contact expansion. It's currently on sale at Steam for 50% off.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1021790/Arma_3_Contact/

I'm less interested in the story, than with the extra props and map that come with it. I've been playing with the Livonia map in the editor. (I would encourage you to start up Arma 3 and play with it in the editor too (you don't need to own the dlc))
We have quite a few maps already and with our next mod update, we'll be adding a couple more. However, I like central European themed maps (technically this is eastern Europe).

Let me know if you're interested, before the sale ends. If we want to get this, all of us would have to get it. BTW, it appears that we've already downloaded it. At least the map, so the footprint wouldn't be larger, I think. I mentioned it to Meatshield when this DLC came out and he was okay adding it to the server, if we got it.

Yeah I'll get it. I don't play ArmA 3 in single player mode anyway so the story is irrelevant for me!

I'm good with adding it into the map library; gives us more options

Okay, cool. Thanks for the reply, Gin.

I'm waiting to get Meatshield's confirmation that we can add this DLC. I've spoken to him about it already and he didn't immediately say no, so it's probably yes, but holding off at the moment.

How much is the DLC selling for on Steam right now?

OK. I bought the Contact DLC. I ran one of the default Contact MP missions with no problems on the server. So it looks like that is a non-issue.

Please feel free to get the DLC. Please let me know if/when you get it, to confirm if I should make missions with it for Monday.

Like the Global Mobilization DLC, you'll need to add it in the ARMA 3 launcher. Then you need to click on the blue Play with mods/dics button in the lower bottom left. **Do not click on the 'Play Contact' button unless you want to play with the Single player/alien stuff. I couldn't see a way to get to multiplayer with that. ** So you definitely want to go with the blue button route.

I've just bought the Contact DLC. I've downloaded it from Steam and it has appeared under "Available Optional DLC". Like Global Mobilization, I ticked the check box in front of it and it moved to "Loaded Optional DLC".

I then click on the Blue "PLAY Mods & DLC on" button and the Splash Screen says "Arma III Contact". It then loads Arma III Contact.

You said "you'll need to add it in the ARMA 3 launcher", Steam loaded it for me, could that be the problem ?

Hi Prof.

What I meant by adding to the launcher is checking the box and moving it up to the GM DLC, which you said you did.

When I first tried it, I clicked on the blue box and it took me to Contact anyway. When I quit ARMA and did it again, it took me to the proper Arma 3 splash screen. Could you give it a go a couple of more times to see if the problem got fixed naturally?

Hi Saghen,

I've retried it about 10 times, no change. I restarted the PC, rebooted, no change. I unloaded the Contact DLC and loaded Arma, no problem it works. Reloaded Contact DLC and it goes into Contact every time. Strange ...

Okay, we got prof sorted out.

The actual instructions are...do NOT click the box to add the Contact DLC. That actually adds the alien single player campaign and jacks things up. Just buy the DLC and it should load properly without checking the box.

I purchased the Contact DLC, so good for missions. I'll load it later today to make sure I'm hitting all the right buttons.

Thanks for the update, Gin.

Prof and I were on the server a couple of days ago. There are a couple of default MP missions that you could start up to see if everything is in order.
