Not my kind of music at all (the likes of Kiss made me go punk :ar15 ), but having worked on a show Gene was hosting, he actually seemed ok: no backstage bs, was actually quite good/funny.

!000 smackers is steep for a stream, but the whole vip package thing has become a big revenue stream over the last ten years or so.

A show is also gonna employ maybe 50+ technicians etc- and they are some of the very few in the sector who have any work in 2020

On a related note, I looked up the Kiss discography and I found it very impressive that the great majority of their albums from 1974-1998 went "Gold" or "Platinum" so they had a very long period of commercial success. Their last album was released in 2012.

I've been hardcore into rock & roll (and later metal) since I was a kid in the 70's, but I just never understood the appeal of Kiss. I could see the appeal maybe in terms of a live show (especially back then), but I never once heard a Kiss song that made me buy a record...

Iron Maiden was another where I was an outlier among my rock/metal fan friends, they just didn't resonate with me...

I'm not by any means saying either band sucks, but those two just weren't on my "frequency" or something...

That said, anyone who pays 1000 bucks to stream a concert has way too much money and time on their hands...

I never gave Iron Maiden much time back in the day (the 80's). I had this strange loyalty to Judas Priest back then.
I appreciate some of their songs these days though. One thing for sure, they are way better musicians than Kiss. Bruce Dickinson can sing (plus he flies their plane, how friggin cool is that ?). Hallowed Be Thy Name is an incredible song, his vocal range rivals anyone.

One aspect of Iron Maiden that I REALLY like are the historical themes of many of their songs and they even wrote a song inspired by Dune!! How cool is that?

During their hey day in the 80's though I was a young kid so I wasn't into hard rock or metal at that time. I was basically a top 40 Pop listener.
