So far, I have been a bit disappointed with this season. Along with some minor issues (the storm troopers are so weak they have moved into "barely an inconvenience" territory, and I am not a fan of the increased use of electronic score), overall I have felt that aside from the first one, the episodes have been too, well, episodic; more like a series of video game quests than anything else. We will see how the last episode ends, but so far I am a bit disappointed.

I totally get your point on this but then again, incompetent storm troopers have been a staple of the SW franchise since the original trilogy.

As for the music, I find it to be totally forgettable except for the main intro theme.

Most of the incompetent's stormtrooper trope came from a couple of scenes on the Death Star where they are chasing Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. In-universe, that can be explained in part by they fact they are taken by surprise and the fact that Tarkin and Vader actually wanted Solo to escape (and if you retcon the original Thrawn trilogy take on how the force works in combat into Episode IV, maybe had something to do with the fact the Obi Wan and Luke were affecting things, even sub-consciously); obviously it is also in part explained by the fact that the heroes needed to get off the Death Star for the story to progress. However, otherwise in the trilogy, the strormtroopers easily board and overwhelm the Rebel troopers defending the Tantive IV, they have little trouble blowing through the Rebel rearguard on Hoth, and the 4-man scout trooper patrol gives Luke a run for his money on Endor. In the non-Skywalker movies, the stormtroopers are quite dangerous even to the trained but non-force sensitive Rebel soldiers.

In the first season of the Mandalorian individual troopers are obviously not match for the equipment or skill of a Mandalorian, buten masse they are portrayed (notwithstanding the scout trooper comedy sketch) as dangerous to individual or smaller groups of Mandalorians, creating some tension. In episodes 3-7 of this season, the Imperial troopers are just so many targets to be knocked off without working up a sweat, like in an adventure video game, ruining whatever sense of suspense or plausibility you would otherwise have.

Thank you Toaster. In Empire strikes back when Yoda said there is another, maybe he meant Baby Yoda and not Leia? Baby Yoda could be his son? Empire is 1 year before Return of the Jedi and Mandalorian is 5 years after Jedi. Baby Yoda is 50 years old in the series, 45 years old during Jedi. It can't be Rey cos episode 7 is 30 years after Jedi and she was not born during Empire.

Uh..no."Baby Yoda" was entirely the creation of Jon Favreau. It had nothing to do with George Lucas.

Speaking of the season 2 finale, I thought it was an excellent episode all around and I immediately knew who it was as soon as I saw that X-Wing coming in to land.

I did chuckle a bit though with the "jamming" laser "machine gun" that Cara Dune was using.

I second the recommendation from NFB since the Mandalorian up to now consists of 16 episodes most of which are less than 45 minutes in length. If you are one of those "binge watchers" you'll blow through the series in like 3 days.
