I'm also holding off on this. Not only because there is not yet a campaign. I second the statement that the 3rd party campaign generator is excellent.
The main problem to me is the lack of 2 seater aircraft. I'd like my campaign to be at least somewhat similar to actual operations at the time, and without observation aircraft there is no reason for fighters to be flying around over the front!
MACHINE GUN FIRE: CAMBRIN by ROBERT GRAVES (September 25 1915)
The torn line wavers, breaks, and falls. 'Get up, come on!' the captain calls 'Get up, the Welsh, and on we go!' (Christ, that my lads should fail me so!) A dying boy grinned up and said: 'The whole damned company, sir; it's dead.' 'Come on! Cowards!' bawled the captain, then Fell killed, among his writhing men.

I haven't gotten into Flying Circus yet, but I'm intrigued. Are these stand-alone or an add-on to IL-2 Great Battles? IOW, what all will I have to buy to get in the air?
Campaign mode isn't an issue for me. I'm more interested in multiplayer. Wings Over Flanders Fields provides an excellent single player experience. Missions are free-form not scripted, lots of flyable planes including two-seaters, and the entire front from the North Sea all the way to Switzerland and even Southern England if you want to experience the first Battle of Britain (Gothas only on the Hun side...Zepps are non-flyable so far) is available. Unfortunately, WOFF has zero multiplayer capability, and I miss that side of gaming.
SALUTE TO ALL!

Not only will Flying Circus – Volume II have a campaign but it will also have these 2 seaters coming -- Airco DH.4, Breguet 14.B2 and DFW C.V., -- plus these: Handley Page 0-400 and Gotha G.V.! That should be enough to satisfy anyone!

And Rise of Flight still will not support VR.
And for me VR is as essential to flight sims as is a stick and rudder pedals.

What is so different in RoF 2 and then the planned 3 and 4 ? It does not quite make sense (for me that is). The graphics engine is totally updated in ROF 2. It looks a lot better. As far as the gameplay goes though it's essentially the same.

Well, the AI is a bit better too (plus you get any ongoing improvements that may happen in this area). ROF AI is, imho, pretty bad (definitely the weakest of the WOFF, FE2, FC group in comparison).

Bought both FC1 & FC2 in Pre-order to support Jason but I have never flown any of the WW1 aircraft even in a QMB. Will need to remedy that soon.
Wheels If you ever want to fly COOP missions with the WWI planes let me know!

If you ever want to fly COOP missions with the WWI planes let me know! Will do. On the flip side if you are up for a little WW2 dogfight action on Friday's at 5pm and/or Sunday at 4pm Los Angeles Time let me know. https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/personal.html?cities=137,156,136,248Our server, the 352ndVFG, is setup with mods enabled even though we typically do not have any mods enabled in the missions. Makes it easier to find our server since there are typically only three or four mods enabled servers in the list at any one time. Wheels

Thanks but I'm strictly a COOP gamer. No head to head for me. Our dogfight sessions are really hybrid COOP'S. Except during our warmup sessions while we are waiting for everyone to join for the evening we almost never fly against one another. We fly dogfight so we do not have to restart the mission if someone crashes on takeoff. It also allows us to fly more than one sortie against a target. Wheels
