Indeed I did. I'd like to see more posts like this.

I successfully failed to start Cyberpunk yesterday after work. I want to play it, and will. But i just didn't feel enthusiastic about creating a character at that moment. And there's this feeling that for every day I wait there will be more patches and hotfixes, making my very first impressions as favorable as possible. I think I am a fairly forgiving gamer, I can accept faults and issues if the game is good, just look at the RDR 2 thread. So I don't think that I would recoil at the current state of the game, warts and all. But there's every chance that a hotfix or two might drop before I start.

And I wanted to finish my Borderlands run too if i can. Once I dive in to Night City I expect to stay there a while.

I decided to give it a try although I thought my hardware would struggle (i5 6600/GTX970/32GB) but I'm getting pretty good frames at the default settings.

Driving is horrible with K/B so I may bust out the controller. I've just finished the training so let's see how this goes.

I'd be interested to know if it's 'multi-controller'. In other words can I seamlessly use my controller for driving and KB & M when on foot like in RDR 2 or GTA?

That's what I'm hoping to do but I'm done gaming for tonight. Time to relax smile

I spent about a minute customising my character (I went with a default model) as I can't be ar$ed with that sort of thing. At least I'm wearing underwear.

I typically play a stealthy infiltrator type character in open world games, but sneaking seems only marginally useful thus far in Cyberpunk, I wish I had put those points towards technical abilities instead.

I don't like how most of gear seems to rapidly become outdated, there's such a thing as too much progressivity.

Another thing I'm not crazy about is how the enemies level with you, to a varied extent. Typical enemies that I could kill quickly near the beginning of the game are now fairly "tanky", although my character can take a lot more damage also. I would have preferred that everybody stay fairly easy to kill unless there is good reason why they wouldn't be, which is one of the key hallmarks of the pen and paper game.

Those complaints aside, this is still easily the best open world game I've ever experienced.

After eight years of development, Cyberpunk 2077 made a profit in one day

CD Projekt says the game earned back its development and in-house marketing costs from preorders alone.

"The Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) hereby announces that the estimated licensing royalties receivable by the Company in association with pre-order sales of Cyberpunk 2077 across all of its digital distribution channels have exceeded the sum of the following:

the game’s marketing and promotional costs borne by the Company – either already incurred or anticipated for the remainder of 2020.

Hey Blade...yes, I am running DLSS (auto setting) and I'm getting between 25-30 FPS, which looks fine to me. Unless I'm flying a flight sim like MSFS or DCS, I don't care about frame rates much. I just don't want any stuttering or lag, and I'm not getting any here.

Yes. That kind of crap has been a staple of cyberpunk genre fiction since about the mid 80s.

this game is utter rpg garbage, i regret having spent most of 2h trying to bench to get a stable performance or i would refund this sham.

<rant>
they lied out their ass about this game, and it seems they cut basically everything because of last gen.

Trains were obviously cut, even though the whole infrastructure is visible, they showed a trailer with v in it and the whole system was teased in a screenshot early on......nope nada.
no emergent gameplay, im early on but i have yet to meet their "radial"quests, all i got was a bunch of message from cops.....why am i suposed to help them, im a #%&*$# criminal not blade runner !
Interaction with game world is minimal, even skyrim did it better with sitting in benchs and stuff.
The AI is pathetic, cops dont react to gangs attacking you, but the moment you shoot them, they gang on you, and worse, they spawn out of thin air around you and you cant shoot them because it just increase your wanted level with more cops showing up from ether, i ran and they gave me chase for a whole 5 minutes around 5 blocks !!
i once started shoting from a ledge with no acess, and sudenly because one cop heard or saw me attacking the gang, 2 cops spawned on the ledge near me.....#%&*$# #%&*$#.
remember the you can date anyone you meet ? you only have interaction with mission givers, people on the street basically have 3 dialogues and they dont really react to you, or even stuff you do.
no ownership, you can "steal"people blind ,guess california became soviet russia
no garage or parking
you cant preview itens in inventory
inventory ID card doesnt reflect the look of looted item (guns color), this will NEVER be fixed, if they didnt bother to implement it will be too much of a hassle to go back and place ids on the itens, i have seen this in other rpgs.
AI combat is very early 2000 basic, enemy hunker down and shoot, that is it.
no drone control outside scripted missions

Dont bother to place skill on stealth, it is an afterthought and it barelly works.

Deus EX was better ! if only we got a new game for next gen instead of stupid avengers.
</rant>

Stealth does work to an extent, but you need to be good at setting up takedowns and have a high movement speed, it also helps if the target is distracted.

Many of the side gigs are as challenging as the final battles in other games, they may not have a lot of depth but they are satisfying.

I've found the combat AI to be ok, I've had them flank and maneuver aplenty, although the overall combat mechanics are basically Fallout 4 level.

I found the cops aren't too hard to evade, I even killed a couple and lost the rest by heading to an abandoned area, sprinting around corners, jumping fences and climbing buildings and then waiting it out in sneak mode.

Thanks for the "no holds barred" review. The issues you mention would matter to my enjoyment. Police appearing out of nowhere would be a "turn off".

I play games on "normal" difficulty to avoid the sometimes overdone extremes of hard difficulty settings. Your review has warned me to stay "normal".

I'll buy it eventually. But, I'll give them some months to fix it. Meantime, I'm still interested to read more reviews in this thread. Its educational. smile

I started the game last night. I picked the “Corpo” character class. I’m only about 2 hours into it but so far I like it. The atmosphere and general vibe of the Cyberpunk world is VERY reminiscent of Altered Carbon.
