Ex-Nazi, ex-White supremacist, ex-Black supremacist, ex-radical jihadist, do you think it’s absolutely impossible to see the error of your ways and be truly remorseful?

The justice system in many states became a joke when they removed the death penalty for murder. I support the death penalty but let's acknowledge here that it's a punishment and not a deterrent. People who commit capital crimes do so regardless of whether or not the state they live in happens to have a a death penalty.

That's enough deterrence to warrant its use.

I shook the hand of a world-famous nazi hunter at a friend's Chabad(aka orthodox synagogue) a year ago--was an awesome experience, listening to him tell stories in a presentation of how he goes about tracking these rats down.

People who commit capital crimes do so regardless of whether or not the state they live in happens to have a a death penalty. In my opinion it's all punishment and should be acknowledged as such. Calling it a deterrent is complete pr. No criminal (or at least very few) expects to be caught. Therefore they will not be deterred by any potential sentence.

Why can't we do this to Communists....I know most Communists who came here rejected it, but there are a looooooot of current ones that should be sent to Venezuela/Cuba to enjoy the fruits of everyone's labor.

You make an outstanding point. For example, if the US government discovered that someone who used to be in an NKVD death squad during WWII was living in the US, would they be deported?

Only if they were known to have targeted an extremely politically influential group...

Ex-Nazi, ex-White supremacist, ex-Black supremacist, ex-radical jihadist, do you think it’s absolutely impossible to see the error of your ways and be truly remorseful? I think it depends why they are what they are. But some can, I know they can. I have a friend who was raised white supremacist. It was a very wierd thing, she was not taught to hate people of other skin colors, but she was taught that they were of lesser intelligence, capability and so on. Much in the same way that I was taught that the world is not flat, that the moon doesn't light up by itself and so on, just as if their racist ideas were simply known facts about the world. Eventually she went out into the world, left that bubble and you can imagine that that did not go well. Imagine discovering that you were so mislead by the people you love. She started questioning absolutely everything, that was quite a pile of shambles to pick up. So, I think some people like that are simply ignorant of facts and once exposed will change their views.

Yup. Just look at former West Virginia DEM Senator Robert Byrd! He was in the KKK and even held a high rank in that organization until he was in his early 30's.
