Lot of long hours in here! I had a nice easy shift of 11 hours last yesterday and the daughters graduation and formal today so they slapped me a full day off! Running around like mad playing catch up at home while i can. Which includes applying for 'normal hours' 7-4 or 8-5 jobs biggrin

15 years ago I worked as a skilift mechanic and averaged 75-85 hours a week, with a full 2 days off in there. That went on for about 3 1/2 months.

When I worked at the airport up until a couple years ago, in the winter I’d work my normal shift (0500-1330) in the shop, then at least a few days a week I’d head down to the ramp and deice from 1400 until 2000, 2200, a couple times until after midnight because we were waiting for a charter or med flight to leave. Most weekends I’d come in to deice as well, from 0500 until whenever.

Those are my long hours jobs, my hardest job is probably my current job. I work 46 hours a week, 9h15m per day, and I’m willing to bet I’m actually working for 9h05m of that time. The other 10m is talking with the boss about what I’m working on, bathroom breaks, etc.

For those of you who have mentioned that you work 50 hours or more per week, is it because your employer is short-handed on employees or is it because there's just that much of a workload for everyone to do?

Every time I've worked long weeks it was usually a combination of both. Usually, it's being shorthanded that really sets it off and creates the extra work load for everyone else.
