Thanks, OBD! I am aching to see the graphics and AI improvements. Any word on additional flyables? No pressure! Likely no new ones for the moment, we have one or two a good way through for likely release sometime afterwards. We also have to work on WOTR some before coming back to aircraft. They will come.

That could be a very juicy bonus, but as we all know there are more pressing issues at hand. Thanks for your reply, Pol.

Pol, despite celebrating nothing, this feels like a Christmas wish list. Regarding the aircraft resupply rates, does this apply to player squad only or to all squads in the theatre? I hate it when I decimate a Jasta in the morning and they’re up to full strength by afternoon. Thank you for the update. The forum was getting quiet.

Those updates sound brilliant thanks.
I like the idea of the slowing down of the promotion rates, that's been an issue with flight sims since Red Baron, European Air War, IL2 days.
With regards to the Lewis gun and the Foster mount, can it be fired when down too?
That would be cool and historically accurate of course.
"A great deal of an aeroplane could be holed without affecting its ability to fly. Wings and fuselage could be—and often were—pierced in 50 places, missing the occupants by inches (blissfully unaware of how close it had come until they returned to base). Then the sailmaker would carefully cover each hole with a square inch of Irish linen frayed at the edges and with a brushful of dope make our aircraft 'serviceable' again within an hour."

Fullofit, this is just for player squadron - actually thinking on it I'm not sure, I'll check on that. How are you decimating a squadron ? Albert: No, I knew someone would ask that.

Albert Tross, I believe the issue of firing the lewis when retracted, has already been responded to by Pol. I don't believe that will be addressed in the next release, but if it is possible I suspect OBD will get around to it.

Hey guys, no worries, it's still a very realistic change to have the Lewis lowered in order to reload it. Means you can't just sit behind someone in your Nieuport, SE5 or even DH2 and blast away for ages. You'll have to be more careful about accuracy.

New Lewis Gun code - player can now (must now) reload (Ctrl+Shift+G) after each drum is empty (or anytime before) each craft has the historically correct number of drums and rounds.
Lewis Guns on Foster mounts can now be lowered (Ctrl+G) and raised (Shift+G) - Gun must be fully lowered to reload on those!
Been waiting for this for a long time! If you reload when you've partially emptied a drum, will you be able to come back to it later or is it gone? When you click on (Ctrl+Shift+G), will it lower, reload and return the gun or do you manually have to lower and raise the gun?
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

So much good stuff to look forward to! I like the change that will combine A+B flight into one larger flight.

When you reload the old drum is gone. If it's foster mount you have to lower the gun first to reload, then raise the gun. (CTRL+G, Shift+G).
Pictures please. I don't believe you Pol! A picture is worth a thousand words Sir! Prove it! S!Blade<><

Moving pictures would be even better.

Squads that are 25 miles or less from the front lines now focus operations on the front line sector nearest them where possible...Enemy squads encountered are now more likely to be the squadrons in the immediate vicinity along the front lines. Good news. Flying past other airfields that could have handled the mission always seemed silly to me. I envisioned waving at them as they flew to patrol near my home field. And Intercepts with a twenty minute flight enroute are just ridiculous. A+B flights are now sometimes combined - all fly in B Flight. German: 6/1917 onwards: they may combine both flights into B as one large flight quite often - as player, and as an enemy flight that player may run into if he is not German. Other Nations: 6/1917 onwards - if A Flight is not allocated then B Flight is often now larger. oooOOOOooo. i LIKE it, i LIKE it. I may have to dig up my recording of "Ride of the Valkyre". Frequency of ops revised and more intense during battles. Yeah, always seemed a bit wrong to fly one sortie a day in the middle of a major offensive, especially after 1916. Halved all prestige points to slow down promotion of AI and player. Very nice. I'm flying a German campaign right now and have gone from Offizierstellvertreter to Rittmeister in a period of six months. I've also been leading flights containing the Crown Prince (Jasta 2) and MvR (jasta 11). When receiving aircraft upgrades squads are now allocated full complements of the new craft rather than sometimes receiving only partial complements, and having all the old replaced craft removed. This avoids the player being penalized for an upgrade and having incomplete aircraft complements directly after the upgrade. Also very nice. Having to fly older aircraft than HA's that you outrank and who have fewer kills than you seems wrong. Wheel Gear on all Aircraft can now be damaged in battle, on impact, or overstressed in hard landings - individual DM for Left and Right gear. I guess I'll have to stop trimming the trees in the glidepath now.
SALUTE TO ALL!
