Hi all,

I know there's a discussion down at the Site Suggestion Forum, but it seems no one in charge is reading or replying there.

Currently I get three to four ads on this site, as logged-in user, and two of those break the usability. One covers the top right portion of the navigation/user interface, and the other is an interstitial popup that needs to be clicked away before one can proceed on the site.

I'm a month or six weeks away from reaching twenty years of my membership here, and I've also donated every now and then if it was needed. I'm willing to do so again if that makes a difference.

However, if this stuff keeps getting worse, or no one takes notice, I personally will not come back here. It pains me to say, but maybe it's a signal to move on. I would however feel that I'd be leaving a lot of friends behind, and I don't want that.

Anyone of the mods has a straight link to the people in charge?

I have sent a message to Racer with two threads linked so he can see the comments.

I was able to change a setting in Firefox that gets rid of the ads, but I shouldn't have to. I can't find a similar setting in other browsers, and if it weren't for Firefox, I wouldn't be coming here anymore.

Fair point, I could use an ad blocker, but I generally wanted the site to have the money. Now that it overlays navigation parts I might as well do that.

I'm no expert on internet advertising business models but perhaps it's the case that the small, low-intrusive web ads just aren't affective anymore in generating mouse clicks? Personally, I wouldn't be averse to a small monthly subscription fee for this site but I suspect only the hardcore daily posters would go for that.

I can access it, using Chrome on Android. But advertisements block the content, and keyboard even.

Dolphin has built in adblock.

Dolphin has built in adblock.

I'll give it a try.

Not sure if it's deliberate, at least the top right ad blocking the Nav is now gone...

Strange. When I click on a thread when first logging in I get an advert instead of the thread. But this only happens the first time and not again. If I go to another form after logging in this advert doesn't appear.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

I still get the infolinks advert at the bottom but doesn't interfere with accessing a thread.
