Not had that problem Red. My sister does but she runs a budget laptop and insists on having anywhere from 5 to 10 browser tabs open ALL the time. Memory is always pegged at 80% plus. I keep telling her but she won't listen. 'I've always done that' she said. And your PC's have always run like crap.

It says it's a new version of Windows 10, must be a major update. I'll do mine overnight.

Just for her Panzer. She has so many obscure and weird problems but she insists it's not her. It's her. It drives me nuts at times.

I am gonna leave my PC on...and wait a few of days. They have had big problems with some updates lately.

i use automatic update which loads in the background and notifies me when is ready to install. Rarely takes long to restart and install.

Till they fix it after deploying it. That's why have turned auto updates off recently.

So do I. Dad passed before PC's existed but I tried to get my mom going. Just teaching her to use a mouse was a struggle. Now I am my brother's IT tech.

Never had any problem with updates, just with this recent one, and it´s not really a problem, it just took way to long to update IMHO. Nothing to do with how many tabs you got open as I was shutting down my PC before I went for a hike.

It looks like Microsoft might be forcing the update from 1909 to 2004. My home computer is waiting for me to reboot to install 2004. This is like installing a new operating system so it will be a very big update.

Keep in mind that Win 10 is the end of the line for their OS according to Microsoft. There will be no "Win 11" or some cleverly named successor. Win 10 with frequent updates is what we will have for the foreseeable future.

Where the ocean meets the sky
MS has said and announced a lot in the past 30 years, and it will change again.
Windows 10 alright, but numerous "sub-versions" existing which are all different in certain aspects. Ugrading to ver. 1909 astonishingly worked (privately Win 10 pro here), but the latest small update destroyed my setup. Went back to an earlier backup point, most worked again but no way to find out why and how. Edge is now completely screwed, but i do not want to use it anyway.
One of the negative aspects sure is that you have no control about upgrades and Windows sending personal private data to MS or anywhere, including time you spend on which website, when you are using Win 10, what you buy, sell and all this stuff. MS is not alone doing this of course.
But you can only stop sending your private data with the Enterprise version, and who can or wants to buy the Enterprise version, at that price.
There has to be some other OS, the sooner the better.
