A friend said Terminator for Halloween watching. Terminator ???? A very lethal and almost unstoppable killing machine from the future travels back in time to find and kill you. If that's not horror, I don't know what is.

and I hear there is a fifth Scream film in the planning
Wes Craven has left this coil, so don't get your hopes up. Check out "Shocker" if you need a dose of Craven, one of his lesser appreciated 80s classics that delivers. Bonus: The actor who plays the one and only Director Skinner from the X-Files is one bad dude!

I classify Terminator much more as a science fiction film than horror. The same goes for Alien. The premise in both those movies are close to most slasher films. If they count as Halloween and scary movies, then I"m counting Terminator and Alien. Besides, it gives me an excuse to watch them again.

The actor who plays the one and only Director Skinner from the X-Files is one bad dude! I just looked at the cast list for that movie and laughed when I saw John Tesh. Now there's a guy who disappeared with the end of the 90's! As for Mitch Pileggi, he was outstanding on the X-Files and while I've seen the series several times, I've never seen him in anything outside of the X-Files.
“Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.”

Another one that is fun is "Hardware."
Also, check out "Trick 'r Treat." Great anthology movie.
And of course the two H.P. Lovecraft classics starring Jeffrey Coombs: "Re-Animator" and "From Beyond." Watch "Re-Animator" first. Total classic.
