I lean toward old fashioned ghost stories and a bag of chips.

Going to miss "trashing" the Manship Theatre this year for Rocky Horror.

Resse's Peanut butter cups all the way.

For movies I've never really liked most Halloween movies, so give me The Thing or Alien.

For me, nothing beats the original "Halloween" by John Carpenter. Oh and it helps that PJ Soles was one of my absolute, ultimate childhood crushes! She's the blonde with the pig tails. smile

To be perfectly honest, the Halloween holiday has been unimportant to me for at least 15 years or so. The last time I dressed up for Halloween was in 2000 and that was only because a friend of my ex-wife was having a Halloween party and I was kind of obligated to go.

A very lethal and almost unstoppable killing machine from the future travels back in time to find and kill you. If that's not horror, I don't know what is.

I guess Terminator classifies as Survival Horror, which for me never really holds the same suspense or fascination as other horror genres.

I classify Terminator much more as a science fiction film than horror. The same goes for Alien.

Wes Craven has left this coil, so don't get your hopes up.

Check out "Shocker" if you need a dose of Craven, one of his lesser appreciated 80s classics that delivers. Bonus: The actor who plays the one and only Director Skinner from the X-Files is one bad dude!

The premise in both those movies are close to most slasher films. If they count as Halloween and scary movies, then I"m counting Terminator and Alien. Besides, it gives me an excuse to watch them again.

I just looked at the cast list for that movie and laughed when I saw John Tesh. Now there's a guy who disappeared with the end of the 90's!

As for Mitch Pileggi, he was outstanding on the X-Files and while I've seen the series several times, I've never seen him in anything outside of the X-Files.

Another one that is fun is "Hardware."

Also, check out "Trick 'r Treat." Great anthology movie.

And of course the two H.P. Lovecraft classics starring Jeffrey Coombs: "Re-Animator" and "From Beyond." Watch "Re-Animator" first. Total classic.
