hello there all.
i recently reinstalled as i had been away from it for a while,
and i keep getting this error when i click on select pilot.
it happens wether ive installed the music pack, the skins everything.
i paired it right back and just went with WoffUE, then Woff PE, then the most current patch, (5.04) and still the error.
i found someone talking about a similar issue through searching, from 2015, but he was talking about OFF rather than WOFF and it seemed his problem was never rectified anyway.
anyway, the error:
so it boots up, movies play...all good
menu comes up.
i click on dossiers, (or indeed anything, as they all link to create a pilot, i dont have one yet)
and then the error. "squadron data error EOR check = record number 1"
click ok
next "run time error 13 type mismatch"
on looking in the log the fatal error at the end says:
" !!!! FATAL ERROR!: SquadHistory SquadronStartFinishData : Squadron Data File C:\OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\Campaigns\CampaignData\ScratchPad\AFC-2.txt Error EOR Check = Record Number 1"
now, what it seems to me is that somewhere, its having an issue enumerating the squadron data for AFC2 which ends up crashing it....or something along those lines?
any help on this or assistance would be appreciated.
i have trie dsearching but nothing helpful came up unless im being blind to it....
5 reinstalls of various levels all end with the same issue, and with this same file.
EDIT: interestingly, it happens with WOTR too, so clearly theres some kind of issue with my system not liking either game than anything else i would say.
strange that they both seem similar errors and files.
error log states:
!!!! FATAL ERROR!: SquadHistory SquadronStartFinishData : Squadron Data File C:\OBDSoftware\WOTR\OBDWW2 Wings Over The Reich\Campaigns\CampaignData\Squadrons\RAF 1.txt Error EOR Check = Record Number 1
bizarre......
please help
cheers

Have you sent a Error Ticket into the Dev's ???
Here is what they say in the Sticky on the main WOFF forum site:
Those that have had incarnations of OFF and WOFF over time will know we have released many updates for fixes and new features or improvements over that time. Now the current releases are WOFF Ultimate Edition (WOFF UE), and it's Expansion WOFF Platinum Edition (WOFF PE).
WOFF UE combines all the previous versions (such as WOFF1, WOFF Expansion to V2, WOFF Expansion to V3) and superceedes all those. WOFF UE contains ALL of those 3 plus contains the 3 other Add-ons. WOFF PE adds even more great features (see the store and product pages on our website for more info).
We believe WOFF UE and PE are at a pretty good place now for the vast majority of WOFF users. WOFF UE and PE will only receive important fixes if necessary from now on, provided it's reasonably important to fix We cannot monitor the bugs or technical issues in the forum for this any more - our team is too small.
Currently we are working on a new version of WOFF (WOFF 2020) with well over 70 improvements and more new features full time, so from now on please report any bugs or serious issues using the support email address, together with all needed information (Important: see the last 2 pages or so of the WOFF UE FAQ for details on exactly what is required).
Our email is support<at>overflandersfields.com
Replace <at> with @
(changed to avoid forum email bot spammers).
You can of course post here in the technical sub forum for help from fellow WOFF'ers and we may dip in to help from time to time.

ok
it turns out that it was a locale setting, (ive recently been on a visual novel binge) and setting that back to English from Japanese fixed THAT issue.
however, now, during campaign only (quick flight seems fine) once ive had my briefing and "go to field" i get a woff.dll error/crash
perhaps im just not destined to get back to this sim......
i uninstalled in a fit of rage.....
if however there is an easy fix for this, i will probably have another go once my tantrum subsides.
joking aside, if there is a known solution id be all ears.
cheers
