The news have been circulating for about a week already, with more screenshots and videos emerging.

Azeris' struck Armenian S-300PS battery near Kahut on 10th October. Supposedly, the attack was executed using Israeli made Harop kamikaze drones; one can also assume that Azeri drone operators were briefed by Israeli specialist on the proper tactics.

A 36D6 Tin Shield (19Ж6 ) surveilance radar got destroyed:

Today, a strike video on the Tin Shield from on-site surveillance camera has emerged on Youtube:

And at least one 5P85D TEL was destroyed too:

Yeah they could be aiming for RPN, but the drone operator could not acquire in its usual place and chose to proceed on TEL instead.

It does not look that the base is exactly perfectly suited for S-300 due to the near buildings obscuring the view around.

Also note a poor lad, and a dog, running away from Tin Shield at the very last moments... Looks like the whole SAM unit was caught completely by surprise, i.e. not combat ready.

Looks like another Armenian S-300 was hit. From the powerful explosion, it seems it could have been a 'Tochka' missile used against a deployed battery, with drone providing recon and targeting.

You've got around 4t of propellant, and half a ton of HE in each full launcher. That is enough to make a pretty nice bang and to burn for some time after, with the fuel from the launch and support vehicles added in... plus the saturation of the seeker from the intensity of the explosions and fire making it look bigger than it is.

Hi,
good morning all.
Have joined the pack recently.

I'm a former operator of the S-300PMU computer system (ZWK) 5e266.

Thanks for collecting information.
1. The purported computer rag ( new ) DOES NOT SHOW any of the 6 computers inside the F2 cabine.

[Linked Image]

WRONG undrerstanding or wrong quote from the website it was taken from.

Correction:
Its the rag of the communication transmission device that makes the remote connection to the mobile launcher max 6 vehicles (group) control unit.
Connected to the tall erectable antenna FL-24 on the right side behind the drivers cabine.

2. Purported "The old computer was "40Y6""
WRONG
Correction: The depicted older computer was the 5e266.
EDIT
See the picture of the 40U6.
[Linked Image]

https://computer-museum.ru/english/40u6.htm
Search for the article 5e266 on SORUCOM 2006!
Development of the 40U6 started at 1980 when the 5e26x series was in production since years.

3. For the panel at the front of the ZWK 5e266 I do not have a picture shot by myself or a comrade.
The provided picture does not show any detail.
From my fading memory I have put on the desgnations of the LED and switches as best I can.
Anyone worked on the same S-300PMU?
Known users at least as of 1990 GdR, Czechoslovakian Republic.
Anyone being able to check and add the missing details?
EDIT: Thanks to my russian comrade Evgeniy. He helped me deciphering the barely readable inscriptions.

[Linked Image]

EDIT
By chance the named channels 0-12 are the communictations channels 1-12 connecting the zWK with the other 5 computers inside the F2.

From russian source:

S-300PMU was exported to East Germany (1 battalion, 1989), Bulgaria (1 battalion, 1989), Czechoslovakia (1 battalion, 1990) and China (4 battalions, 1993).

Missiles exported up to first half of 1990s:
East Germany - 72 5V55K, also ordered 22 5V55R but not clear if delivered
Bulgaria - 16 5V55K and 20 5V55R
Czechoslovakia - 24 5V55R plus another 24 delivered to Slovakia in 1994
China - 196 5V55R, possibly also 86 older 5V55K

No answer as long the crowds do not read carefully.

NO EAST GERMANY.

No matter hwo the #%&*$# says so.

PERIOD. DO RESPECT the FACTS

I was the one and only ZWK guy/firing officer (day by day duty) on the only one put in service S-300PMU in my country.

For some reasons one my comrade did firing the missiles at the shooting range (Ashuluk) instead of me.

FOR THE RECORDS:

Everyone has to omit hate speach agains the socialist countries and the many millions of poeple hwo lived there.
They did their work, made love & life.
Many felt pretty good at the time.
No debate on this.

Accept, no matter if YOU like it or not.
No hate speach, no desinformation PLS

I knew it before.

My systems run the text using western encoding.

On the sim the text encoding on the menues is russian / cyrillic I guess.

Hard to understand what it means.

Try this short test programm

I run this emulator (hardware)
