I'm working on a project and I'm wondering how people set up aural warnings with sound and lights to take commands from simulator software? My project is not flight sim related, but is cockpit related, and the technique would be basically the same.

HI Mike,

I think it would depend a great deal on the software you are using.

I'm using EECH for my helicopter cockpit. That has the ability to export indicators status, readout values etc built in. This data is then read by another program and passed to SIOC which is an event driven language for cockpits (free!!).

SIOC may well work for your situation but you'd still need some way of getting the data out of the game/sim.

I believe that Flight Simulator has a similar set up.

Not much help I'm afraid, but your post was a wee bit vague regarding what you want to do.
