Hello again,

Here is the latest devlog about maintenance:



Keeping the ship in good shape and at reasonable cost should hopefully provide some persistent gameplay objectives, and to be factored in during missions. That could mean choosing specific routes to be able to stop at high-tech shipyards, or be prepared to deal with some failing parts if overextending the flight times etc...

Following this the next item on the todo list is the front section and life support 👨‍🔧

Hello,

I had not anticipated the life support systems would be so complicated! The work is still ongoing but at last here's a first dev log video:



That's another set of systems to operate and maintain of course. But besides this the next update will give more information about the intended related gameplay, and how properly managing these systems and the crew will be rewarded in the game.

Hello all,

Here's the latest devlog video. Following the atmosphere control systems, this one is about the crew itself. The model is based on a (simple) thermodynamic representation of the crew's metabolism, with an additional "stamina" quantity to figure long term endurance.



The work on the front section continues with the water system.

Hello there,

A new update about the life support systems: water, food and supplies this time. Gameplay wise the endurance concerns were previously focused on the power plant. This adds the crew's needs on top, requiring a bit more planning.



There is still a bit of work left in the front section, notably the radiation protection systems.
